About Me
Hi my name is Summer I am 24 years old and live in Islington. I have recently completed my degree in early childhood studies, graduating with a 2:1. I enjoy going to the gym, reading and taking part in new experiences. I am caring, loving and passionate in helping children grow and develop. I love to be part of children’s learning and creativity watching them grow and build new skills. I especially love to let children be involved in messy play activities as I believe these helps them to develop their sensory and exploratory play.
My Experience
I have hands on experience with special needs children as my sister and brother are both autistic. My sister is severely autistic and is non verbal therefore I’m a part time carer for her to help support my family. I have done placements alongside my degree which extends my experience. I have been working in a private nursery in Islington since October 2020 based in the baby room but have worked across the three key stages babies, toddlers and pre school. This includes nappy changes, sleep routines, bottle feeds, weaning and engaging the children in creative activities benefiting their development. I am currently doing nannying as well as working in a crèche at Britannia leisure centre working with babies/ toddlers from 6 weeks up to 5 years.
