Hello!
I am a fun and energetic person who has a deep love for nature and the countryside. I was privileged enough to grow up on a smallholding in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Surrey, so I have lots of pets, livestock, and gardening/veg-growing experience.
From a very young age, I have loved to spend time outdoors. I have a pretty good knowledge of British flora and fauna, and I am an avid forager. This means that when I am inside, I am making healthy jams, crisps, fruit roll-ups, cakes, and wholesome meals! I have always been enthusiastic to engage and inspire children in these things, where possible.
I often spent my weekends partaking in a hobby called LARP, which stands for Live Action Role-Play. The societies I am part of range from medieval fantasy to post-apocalyptic sci-fi!
My Experience
I have over 17 years of experience with children, I practice respectful patenting and and child-led play. I am kind, fair and always willing to take the time to talk and explain things. However, I am quite capable of setting firm boundaries as I believe they are the foundations of a trusting relationship. I started babysitting at the age of 14, and over the years, I have gained a wealth of experience. I have been a playgroup assistant, a mother's helper, and a Private nanny in the French Alps and the UK. I also have a brother who is 19 years younger than me (now 13 years old), and oh boy, has he taught me a lot about raising children!
I have spent 4 winters in the French Alps, My first 2 ski seasons were as a chalet host where I catered for many different needs and dietary requirements.
During my 3rd and 4th winters, I was a nanny and a resort manager for a property management company.
I am happy to do general housekeeping and gardening tasks.
I have some experience with children of varying ages who have Autism, ADHD, or Down syndrome, and I have just completed a Level 2 Neuroscience in Early Years qualification.
I am Neurodivergent myself, and so I have a vast amount of patience for additional needs and a few helpful resources to get through daily challenges.
