About Me
Hi, my name is Gyovanna, but you can call Gy, I was born in the big city of Sao Paulo in Brazil and was raised by my mother, grandparents and uncles, I'm a very family person! When I was 12, me and my mother moved to a small village in Portugal where I spent 3 years before going to high school. After that I decided to go to the best art school in Portugal: Escola Artística de Soares dos Reis. This was a place that helped me grow a lot in a short period of time. I was in a big city living by myself in a great and time-consuming school, so I needed to manage and organize my life. I didn't have my mother to do most of the things for me, and I needed to get good grades at school. It was an incredible and valuable experience I will never forget.
So I finished high school and got my specialization in Graphic Design. I decided to make a volunteer project with my flatmate using everything we learnt at our school. So we managed, organized and raised money to bring our project to life, going to my home country: Brazil. Where we spent three months and Angola for another three months.
In both countries, we made artistic and creative workshops for kids of all ages.
Then, I decided to study Interaction Design in London.
My Experience
In 2018 I started a project in Brazil and Angola, where I did artistic workshops for children for 2 years.
In both places, we made artistic workshops for kids from 3 years to 18 years, where they could do analogues photographic processes, posters, paintings and had space to express themselves and be creative.
I took care of a toddler from January 2019 to September 2020 in Brazil, he is 2 years old and is a very intelligent and loving kid. I stayed with him before and after school and when the pandemic came I stayed with him all day, so I was responsible for waking him up, giving breakfast and lunch, bathing, coming up with fun activities and taking care of him.
In London I worked for a lovely family, taking care of a 3,5 and 9 years old. I did school pick up, activities during the afternoon, and they always had dinner with me. I took care of them for almost a year, and had to leave because I was moving too far from their home.
In my last experience I took care of a 6 months baby and a 3 years old toddler (When i left the position they were 3 and 6). I took care of them 7hrs a day, giving breakfast, lunch and dinner. I went out with them to parks, soft plays and baby groups always that was possible and we had a great time.
I believe in a careful and loving education, listening to the kids, speaking in a kind way, explaining is a far more efficient way to educate a polite, caring and affectionate kid. Teach them that their feelings matter and they can have someone they can trust and care for them no matter what. I don't believe in an education that punishes and make kids feel bad if they did something wrong. I think they need to find comfort and understanding in who takes care of them.
As an art student, I like to get my hands dirty sometimes, and as I already did a lot of art workshops, this won't be a problem to me, and I will love to organise and do art and crafts with the kids.
Living in a big city sometimes takes us far from nature, so I love going to parks, observing nature and its beauties and also playing some fun games in an open space. So it will be a pleasure for me to take the kids outdoors, breath fresh air and play.

I am specialized in Graphic Design and I am now doing an undergraduate course on Interaction Design Arts.
