Hello!
My name is Rio, I am a Mum of one and I am delighted to co-childmind alongside Emily Paines, a Mum of three, who is also Ofsted graded Outstanding.
Together, we have created a brand-new, high-quality childcare setting called Little Lavenders within Marksbury Village Hall, designed especially for little learners to feel safe, supported, and excited to explore the world around them!
With small ratios, caring relationships, and endless opportunities for play, we offer a warm and nurturing environment where every child can shine. From outdoor adventures and imaginative play to early-years learning and creative fun! We provide a caring home-from-home environment with room to grow, where children are gently guided towards school readiness through child-led play.
Nestled right at the heart of the village, Little Lavenders provides flexible childcare for families in a secure, non-domestic setting. We’re passionate about helping children grow in confidence, build friendships, and develop a lifelong love of learning - all while supporting our wonderful community.

My Experience
I have been a Childminder for 3 years and was Ofsted graded Outstanding in July 2025.
Prior to becoming a Childminder I was a Nanny for over ten years and have experience of looking after all ages - from newborn babies through to late teens.

Rio has been the most incredible carer for our 20m son. He learns so much every day, and is so excited to see her and the other children she looks after.
She shares regular updates of all their adventures and takes such time and care with the kids. His verbal skills have rocketed since we started with Rio, as have his eating skills, among other things.
I cannot thank Rio enough for all she has done for our son, and cannot recommend her higher.

Rio has been a saviour for our family. My little girl is very apprehensive about new people and it’s been super hard to leave her. Also exclusively breastfed (not such a thing now but when she was younger!). Rio connected with her so quickly and she absolutely adores her. When I drop B off I feel like I’m leaving her with family. She’s so loving and gentle with the kids, as well as fun and engaging. My daughters speech, particularly singing, is astounding for her age and I’d say that’s a lot to do with Rio. B also eats anything and everything at Rios - so it’s really reassuring to know she’s getting what she needs. 1000% recommend.
