Amy
Childminder in Wyre Forest
My Summary
Outdoor Childcare, Where Children Learn, Explore And Thrive In Nature Every Day.
About Me
Hi, I’m Amy, and I am the founder of HoneyBees & WILDflowers, a unique outdoor childcare setting based in the Worcestershire countryside.
With over 20 years of experience in early years education, I studied Early Years (Level 5 Foundation Degree) and furthered my studies in Integrated Working with Children & Families at the University of Worcester. I am passionate about providing high-quality care that nurtures the whole child, and I have always believed in the powerful benefits of learning through nature.
I am proud to have been graded Outstanding at my most recent inspection, reflecting my commitment to providing high-quality care and education for all children.
After working in the early years sector for many years, I became a registered childminder and grew a small, dedicated team to meet increasing demand. I have now brought my vision to life by creating a beautiful outdoor setting where children can thrive in a natural, open environment.
At HoneyBees & WILDflowers, we are committed to reconnecting children with nature. We spend our days outdoors in all weathers, allowing children to explore, take safe risks, and develop confidence, resilience, and independence.
We are proud members of the Forest Childcare Association and regularly access woodland and natural spaces, giving children rich, real-life experiences that support all areas of their development.
Our approach is rooted in child-led, play-based learning. We carefully create inviting, sensory-rich environments that spark curiosity and imagination, using natural and sustainable resources. We offer open-ended materials and loose parts that encourage creativity, problem-solving, and deep engagement.
For our youngest children, we are introducing a cosy, hygge-inspired garden cabin designed especially for 1–2 year olds. This calm, nurturing space will be used at the beginning and end of the day, offering comfort, warmth, and a gentle start and finish, while still allowing them to spend the majority of their day exploring and learning outdoors with the wider group.
Children are also involved in growing their own food within our allotment area, where they can plant, care for, and harvest fruits, vegetables, and herbs. These are then used in simple cooking experiences, helping children to develop an understanding of where food comes from and promoting healthy eating habits.
We aim to provide a calm, nurturing environment where every child feels valued, supported, and inspired to learn.
We are registered for Tax-Free Childcare and offer funded places.
My Experience
I have extensive experience in the childcare sector, having worked across both nursery and school settings. My most recent role prior to becoming a registered childminder was within a school nursery, where I worked as an Early Years Practitioner and also took on the role of Mental Health and Wellbeing Lead, supporting children’s emotional development and overall wellbeing.
Alongside my professional experience, I also bring valuable personal experience as a parent. In addition, I have cared for much younger siblings from a young age, giving me over 25 years of hands-on experience working with children from newborn through to older ages.
This combination of professional knowledge and real-life experience allows me to provide a nurturing, understanding, and supportive environment where every child feels safe, valued, and able to thrive.
My Qualifications
I have a strong background in early years education, supported by both formal qualifications and ongoing professional development.
Studied BA (Hons) Integrated Working with Children and Families – University of Worcester

Amy and the team are truly exceptional and stand out for the enriching, well rounded experiences they provide for children. From the moment you meet them, it’s clear that care, thought, and dedication go into every aspect of the environment.
One of the most impressive features is the strong focus on outdoor learning. The children benefit from a fantastic outdoor setting where they can explore, play, and develop a real connection with nature. Whether it’s engaging in hands on activities in the fresh air or enjoying structured outdoor learning, the opportunities provided are both meaningful and fun.
The regular day trips are another highlight. These outings are carefully planned and give children the chance to experience the world beyond the setting in a safe and stimulating way. Visits to local areas, including allotments, allow children to learn about growing food, nature, and the environmen encouraging curiosity and practical life skills from an early age.
What truly sets this setting apart, however, is the incredible team. They consistently go above and beyond for the children, showing genuine care, patience, and enthusiasm in everything they do. It’s clear they are passionate about supporting each child’s individual needs, ensuring every child feels valued, safe, and encouraged. Their commitment creates a nurturing environment where children can confidently explore, learn, and grow.
On a personal note, my son has absolutely thrived here, not only in his development but socially as well. He has made friendships that will likely last a lifetime, which speaks volumes about the warm, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere created by the team.
The variety of opportunities offered is outstanding. Every day feels purposeful, with a perfect balance of play, learning, and exploration. The environment nurtures confidence, independence, and creativity, ensuring each child can thrive at their own pace.
Overall, this is a warm, inspiring, and highly professional childminding setting that goes above and beyond in every way. Any child here is given not just care, but a truly enriching and memorable start to their early years.

My daughter has been attending Amy’s setting for almost 2 years and I could not be happier with the time she has spent there.
As I have worked in early years myself for a very long time, I was very selective about where I wanted my daughter to spend her time and who would be caring for her. From that first conversation with Amy, I knew this was the perfect fit. Amy is so passionate about early years and all areas of their development. From the creative activities that are incredibly thought out, to the wonderful days trips they have shared together. My daughter has been given memories and experiences to last a lifetime.
Children are encouraged to express themselves in all ways possible - whether this be getting messy, learning new languages or physically through football clubs or climbing equipment (my daughter’s personal favourite).
To see her thrive over the past two years has been a great happiness to myself and my husband and we are truly grateful to Amy and the whole team for allowing her to do so.

I have two children, both of which have attended Honeybee's. My daughter is still with Amy and has been for 3 years. Amy is such a natural with the children & has the patience of a saint. I was a very anxious mom in the beginning and I'd never left my children with anyone, even family, but Amy was so reassuring and caring - I've never had to worry about them being there.
Amy goes out of her way to create an amazing environment for the children. She does such amazing things with them & they are always learning new things!
The new outdoor setting is so lovely and my daughter really thrives being outdoors so it's perfect for her!
My children absolutely adore Amy and she's has been so supportive for me as a parent too.
I am so glad I found Amy and chose to send my children to Honeybee's ❤️

We are extremely happy with the care our daughter receives at Honeybees. Amy and the whole team are truly exceptional, creating a nurturing, supportive, and engaging environment for the children.
The range of opportunities and experiences provided is outstanding. We particularly value the strong emphasis on outdoor learning—our daughter spends plenty of time outside rather than being indoors all day, and the forest school that Amy has developed is fantastic. It has made such a positive impact on her confidence, independence, and overall enjoyment of learning. The benefits of this hands-on, outdoor approach are invaluable.
In addition, the variety of extra clubs and activities on offer further enriches the children’s experience, making every day exciting and different.
Most importantly, the level of care is excellent. Our daughter is consistently happy, well looked after, and clearly thriving. It gives us complete peace of mind knowing she is in such capable and caring hands. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Honeybees to other parents.

I cannot recommend HoneyBees & WildFlowers Nursery and Kindergarten enough! My two children are so happy here and genuinely look forward to their time with her every day. I was particularly worried about my Elizabeth, who has always found it very difficult to settle with anyone new. Amy was so patient, kind, and professional during those early days. Now, my little one absolutely loves going there! It’s such a weight off my mind knowing they are both safe, having fun, and so well cared for.
Thank you, Amy&Hayley 🥰
