About Me

Hi, I'm Johanna. I am currently working in the NHS as a therapy technician in cardiac and critical care and I am hoping to continue my studies towards Occupational Therapy. I would like to take on some extra work as a babysitter for couple of days a month and I'd love the opportunity to get to know your family and look after your child. In my work and in my personal like as well I enjoy spending time with others, share thoughts and learn from each other. In my free time I enjoy listening to music and I can play a few basic songs on ukulele/guitar. I also love the outdoors, sports, animals and I really enjoy going on walks. I come from a big Hungarian family, have many cousins and many neighbours who I looked after many times growing up. Further to this my little sister was born when I was 18 and ever since I spent a lot of time with her, I also shared my part in parenting responsibilities and gained a lot of experience through this.

My Experience

In my current role as a therapy technician ( physio and occupational therapy) and my previous role as a healthcare support worker of 3 years I gained a lot of experience in looking after others, including conditions such as Down Syndrome and Learning Disabilities. In my work with dementia or patients who might have been under high supervision I gained a lot of experience in how to engage someone. My occupational therapy technician role teaches me skills of how to identify and work with people who might have cognitive impairments or mental health conditions, further to this it helps me to be creative and motivational and find ways to include individuals as much as possible in their own care, improving their quality of life.
My role as a healthcare support worker further to engaging patients included personal care, assistance to eat and drink, prepare medications and food for dietary requirements and taking observations like blood pressure and temperature.
Further to these roles I also supported a lady with Alzheimer’s for couple of months 3 days a week which included preparing food, going on walks and engaging in activities and as weird as it sounds working with people with dementia requires a lot of the same skills as needed for looking after children as these people require continuous prompting and reminder, patience and a lot of love.
I also have experience coaching children in summer camps as a volunteer and looking after children and babies in sunday school.

Reference on request.

My Qualifications

L3 qualification in health and social care (sociology, physiology and human biology) CPR, basic life support and mandatory healthcare training, I am also currently studying additional sociology A level.
