My Summary
About Me
Hello, my name is Davina. As a parent myself, I understand how important it is to find high-quality, reliable and nurturing childcare that reflects your own values, beliefs and principles.
My aim is to provide a warm, welcoming, safe and fun home-from-home environment where every child feels happy, secure, valued and supported. I want parents to feel confident and reassured that their children are receiving the best possible care while they focus on their busy day ahead.
My setting combines the warmth and comfort of a home with the social opportunities, learning experiences and daily structure of a mini nursery. I care for approximately 6–9 children each day and am supported by a dedicated team of 2–3 members of staff. This gives children the opportunity to build friendships, develop their social skills and enjoy group activities, while still receiving plenty of individual care, attention and support.
I provide a variety of nutritious, balanced meals and healthy snacks throughout the day to support children’s growth, development and wellbeing.
Every day is filled with exciting opportunities for children to learn, explore and have fun. Activities are carefully planned around the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and are adapted to meet each child’s individual interests, needs and stage of development.
Our activities may include:
• Arts and crafts
• Sensory and messy play
• Books, stories and singing
• Role play and imaginative activities
• Puzzles and games
• Baking and cooking
• Outdoor play and physical activities
• Learning through play and exploration
I am passionate about encouraging children to enjoy a healthy and active lifestyle. We regularly visit local parks and playgrounds and make full use of the garden, which has a range of outdoor play equipment. Children will also have opportunities to enjoy outings to soft-play centres, children’s centres, library reading sessions and other local activities. Occasionally, we may visit museums, local zoos and farms to provide new and exciting learning experiences.
No two days are ever the same, and I believe that this variety helps create a fun, stimulating and enriching environment where children can explore new experiences, build confidence, develop important life skills and grow as unique individuals.
I regularly observe and record each child’s learning and development, allowing parents to share in and celebrate the important milestones and progress their child makes. I believe that strong, open and trusting relationships with parents are essential. By working closely together, we can ensure that every child receives the support, encouragement and care they need to reach their full potential.
At Destiny’s Childminding Service Home-from-Home Childcare, children are encouraged to learn, play, explore, make friends and most importantly, have fun in a caring and nurturing environment.

My daughter had a great experience at Destiny Childminding. She was happy and looked after very well. Davina was really kind with us, she was flexible with our schedule, etc. we were very happy sending our daughter there. Sadly we need to move house so no longer be able to keep her at Destiny Childminding. But we will definitely see each other in the future as my little one became a good friend with Davina’s daughter Destiny. We highly recommend Destiny Childminding service for all ages.
