My Requirements

We have had a wonderful Nanny who recently relocated to Edinburgh to live with her partner and unfortunately the commute is proving too challenging. So, we are looking for someone to help with our children and home from around December.

Someone respectful, flexible and kind who can be proactive in terms of organising things for the kids and in our home. A good attitude, and most importantly, honesty and integrity are top priorities.

Our house is in the countryside, with lovely spaces outside for walks, and indoor areas with a playroom, nursery etc. We are really looking for someone with the get up and go to do fun things with our children.

Our kids are 5 and 3, with our son at school Monday to Friday until 3.15. Our daughter will likely start nursery 2 to 3 days a week in January also. She has various classes when not at nursery and also swimming.

This is a nanny housekeeper role, meaning that there are duties to look after the children and the home, extending to some PA type duties. That could be anything from returning parcels, organisation to researching travel for example.

We are looking for someone who enjoys preparing healthy family meals.

We have a cleaner who visits twice a week, however this role would involve housekeeping duties as follows:

Maintain tidiness, cleanliness of the house
Preparing family meals
Feeding and caring for cats,
animals
Washing clothes
Ironing children’s clothes if needed
Shopping and family errands
Driving
Taking children to nursery,
classes, appointments
Fun things with the kids such as soft play, park, theatre etc
Sorting the children’s clothes and shoes as they grow, selling/gifting old things etc
Painting, card making, jigsaws all the usual fun ideas to play with the kids!
Capturing fun months with the children and keeping memory boxes

A safe 4x4 car is made available for your sole use during the working day to take the children places and carry out errands.

Occasional overnights will be required, and weekend babysitting by arrangement.

Working hours are generally 7.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday, with some evenings being arranged to be later if required due to our working commitments.

Our kids are little superstars, lovely, happy little people who are respectful of others and their environment.

We have a competitive salary and holiday policy, along with other benefits.

There may be opportunities to travel with the family as the kids get older. At present we take 3 to 4 holidays a year and work with our nanny to arrange her to be off at the same time utilising her holidays when we are away. Additional hours worked are paid additionally on a monthly basis.

Really we are looking for somebody who can be part of the family and enjoys seeing the kids having fun and play an active role in their development.
