Hello, I'm Kelly.

Childcare is my vocation !

I have cared for children for the past six years and I thoroughly enjoy what I do. In that time I have built trust and friendships not only with the children but the parents too. I have made some lovely memories and continue to do so.


In my time being a nanny I have participated in the following duties:
Meal preparation (all the healthy foods) and supervision at meal times
Incorporating learning through reading and teaching i.e. colours, counting and the spoken language . Also the joy of singing good old fashion nursery rhymes!
Organising age-appropriate activities
Potty training
Hygiene care - changing nappies / bathing
Bedtime routine
Outdoor outings - playgroups / Library / local park & farm
Weening
School pickup
Homework help
Travel with family
Housework duties - general cleaning of the house, play area and sorting child's laundry

I provide the best care and affection towards children like they were my own child. I would describe myself as nurturing, gentle and kind. I can create a calm and relaxed environment ensuring children are content and their needs are met.
I strive to assist a child with their developmental needs ensuring their milestones are being reached.
I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage helping children to thrive.
I am aware of safeguarding and prioritise children's safety in my care.
I treat people how I would like to be treated. Kindness goes a long way!

I'm a Bookworm and feel passionate about children reading and love nothing more than to snuggle up to read with children and encourage them about their literary adventures. The Gruffalo is top notch!

My superpower would have to be that I'm Imaginative. I can connect with children on their level and enjoy inventing games and role play with kids. I guess I am a big kid at heart!

Why I love working with kids? -
They are incredibly funny and I find it a pleasure to watch them learn and discover. The greatest moment is when a child asks for you to come back the next day!

About me:
Mature lady, 35 yrs ( but forever a Disney fan ! ) with a friendly disposition and I'm a person who is Genuine, Honest and Reliable. Caring and fun of course!
I enjoy creative writing, history, classical music, arts & crafts & gardening.
I'm vegan, I think it is morally correct to not harm animals. I also have two rescue cats who I treat as good as children.

At the moment I am in my second year at Sheffield Hallam University - working with children, young people and families. I am looking to complete my BA in early 2028. I have recently completed my mandatory placement hours, as a Nursery Practitioner. This as allowed me to gain more experience within the childcare industry.
I am looking forward to taking my experiences and knowledge forward, primarily in a nanny role.
