About Me
I’m Lindsey Norman from Little Pumpkins Childcare in Glenfield.
Little Pumpkins Childcare is a safe and secure environment in which your child will be nurtured and encouraged to have fun, develop friendships and be respectful. My family home is warm and welcoming with considerable outdoor play space as well as different indoor areas such the messy play area, with its natural lighting, and the soft open-plan lounge and dining room. I love to see children getting their hands dirty with sand, playdoh, paints and cake mix! I have a 10ft trampoline, a swing and a slide in a soft barked play area in the garden behind two fair sized grassy lawns. When it’s time to relax indoors there is a wall mounted TV playing Disney Movies and educational shows or your child can spend time watching the fish in my large home aquarium.
My Experience
Having worked within Leicestershire County Council Early Years department for eleven years and having recently had a child of my own (now attending the local primary school); I felt that 2020 was the right time to launch my own childcare service offering the high standard of care that I would expect my own child to receive. Having waited ten years for a child of my own I can completely understand just how precious your child is I know how daunting it can be to find the right level of care that suits you as a parent. I am registered with an Early Years Childcare Agency who are regulated by Ofsted.
My Qualifications
- Level 3 Introduction to Homebased Childminding – CPD Certification Service
- Designated Safeguarding Lead PDF Course – Training 4 Early Years
- Basics of GDPR in Early Years Settings – Training 4 Early Years
- Paediatric First Aid training
- Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene in the Early Years Setting – EYFSR Training Academy
- Both myself and my husband have had enhanced DBS checks dated October 2020.
Also during my time at Leicestershire County Council, I gained a NVQ Levels 3/4 In Business Studies and a Diploma in Management.
