My name is Poppy, I’m 26 years old from Bristol.
My Experience
I’m currently working as a nursery practitioner in the baby unit of a small nursery in Bristol. I have over 8 years of childcare experience both in the UK and abroad, working as a preschool teacher, nanny and babysitter.
I spent 2 years in Japan teaching at an international private preschool and as the lead reception class teacher of a primary school; where I worked with Montessori, Reggio Emilia and Integrated Learning approaches. Alongside this I also supported families as a nanny, traveling with them and relocating during Covid. During this time I had the opportunity to work as a forest school teacher in the surrounding area of Mt Fuji. I enjoy creating exciting and educational activities, from sensory play to Montessori-style set setups. From all my teaching experience I have learnt the importance of child-led learning, supporting their innate curiosity and creativity to aid learning and growth opportunities.
In the UK, I have nursery and babysitting experience with a wide range of ages, including children with additional needs such as ADD, Autism and Down Syndrome. Additionally, growing up with a younger sibling with disabilities has given me patience, understanding and natural ability to adapt to a child’s individual needs.
Parents have described me as kind, gentle and nurturing. I enjoy making each day meaningful for children, whether that’s through teaching, outdoor adventures, movement, games or helping with routines. Working with children genuinely brings me joy, and I take pride in supporting their development.
My Qualifications
I have teacher training in Japan, also training in Montessori and Reggio Emilia learning. I have first aid training for children and infants. Also qualifications in Makaton.
My Availability
My current availability is limited to Mondays + weekends all day and evenings from 18:30 onwards. However I’m looking for a full-time nanny position to transition to from my current position at a nursery.

My Fees
- Babysitting from £12.00 per hour
- Nannying from £15.00 per hour (gross)
My fees range depending on the job requirements. I’m open to negotiation as well.
