My Experience
Childcare Experience
LIVE IN NANNY | APRIL 2019 – JANUARY 2020
My experience working with this family has been wonderful. I managed to develop strong, trusting relationships with not only the child and parents but also the extended family. In this role I looked after a boy of 3 years and would sometimes look after a new born baby. The activities and duties I performed were school runs, play dates, nap time, bath time, over seeing daily routine and engaging the child in fun learning games. I was often laughing and encouraging the boys playful and imaginative personality. My time with this family has widened my understanding, confidence and ability in caring for the Early Years age group.
LIVE IN NANNY | JANUARY 2018 – AUGUST 2018
In my time working with this family, I created strong bonds with not only both the children but also the mother. Working with twins who have learning difficulties, namely Autism and Chronic Fatigue; enabled me to develop confidence and adapt in dealing with matters relating to these conditions. My daily duties consisted of driving the twins to and from school, cooking dinners, helping with homework and taking them to do fun activities e.g. trampolining or beach days. I really enjoyed spending time with the twins, making memories and helping them grow into fine young teenagers.
LITTLE EXPLORERS PRE-SCHOOL | CLASSROOM ASISSTANT | JUNE 2016 & JUNE 2017 – TWO WEEKS
Working for Little Explorers Pre-School for two years running on work experience was an amazing experience. Whilst I assisted there, I encouraged the children to explore their creative side through play and the arts. E.g. developing narratives in games and creating paintings and music. We aided the children in understanding time schedules by having slots such as ‘Reading time’ where we read appropriate books and asked the children participate in actions and accents. Furthermore, using positive reinforcement, the children were encouraged to practice hand washing, tidying up, learning to share and take turns.
PARKSIDE PRIMARY SCHOOL | CLASSROOM ASISSTANT | JUNE 2015 – TWO WEEKS
At this wonderful primary school, I assisted in conducting sport activities throughout the weeks for year groups Reception – Year 6. I helped set up P.E sessions in the gymnasium and playground whilst encouraging and throwing support when in action. I coordinated with the Head of P.E to help run sports day; organise teams, competitions and make sure sun-cream was applied! Also helping set up activities in the classrooms and playground duty.
