About Me
Hi I am Malaika and I study Mathematics at QMUL. I am looking for a job in being a part time nanny in London while I finish my degree. Since I am the eldest in my family and grew up with quite a few siblings and cousins, I have always been good at looking after children and keeping them entertained with fun activities. Therefore I wanted to use that experience to create a fun and safe environment for children when I take care of them.
My Experience
I have been a student nanny now for 4 years, I have looked after different children of ages 1 up to 10. I have experienced children of all different personalities, from the shy sweet and quiet ones to the loud and bubbly ones. But no matter what, I am good at making conversation with children and making sure they are having fun while also behaving. In my first year I worked with a 10 year old girl and a 6 year old boy, daily tasks included entertaining them (we usually did arts and crafts and sometimes we baked together), helping with homework and cooking them dinner and then giving them a bath. In my second year I looked after three 7 year olds and third year I looked after a 1 year old, a 4 year old and a 6 year old. In general the regime to look after the kids was similar, pick them up from school , do homework, play and cook food. However I am fully flexible and can also help around the house if required. Playtime with the kids is up to them, some of them liked to play with Legos and we would spend hours building robots and star wars action scenes with Lego figurines. Other children prefer to use their imagination. I have become very good at adapting to the play style that the children prefer. Since most of the children I worked with were siblings, I am also very experienced in resolving conflicts between children.
My Qualifications
GSCES - passed them all with A's in English, Mathematics and the Sciences
A - Levels - A grades in Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry
Undergraduate in Mathematics with Actuarial Science (currently doing)
My Availability
Since my Uni is online, I am free to work whenever. I am flexible.
