About Me
Welcome to LittleGems, my name is Gemma and I am an Ofsted registered childminder based in Freckleton.
Here at LittleGems I provide quality care for your little ones in a homely, fun-filled, safe and secure learning environment. We enjoy all sorts of activities and educational outings which include animal parks, farms, play areas, parks, nature reserves, the sea side and the woods. We visit indoor play centres such as trampoline parks, wacky world, soft play areas and swimming. We also love role play areas and sensory classes.
A summary of our daily routine ?
The children arrive, we have free play and breakfast followed by the school run. Mornings will usually be spent outdoors, whatever the weather we are out and about! We will either return
home around lunch time for a cooked meal and pudding or enjoy a picnic or hot food outdoors. During our afternoons we enjoy some focused learning activities, or free play if the children prefer.
Learning and development
At LittleGems we have a wide variety of educational activities. We love arts and crafts and getting messy! We love playing in the garden with the outdoor resources, sand and water. We value inclusion and diversity at LittleGems and we celebrate many festivals and cultures from all around the world. We also celebrate Christmas, birthdays and Halloween.
All areas of the children’s learning are covered using continuous provision and resources. These are all readily available in the play area for the children to access independently at all times. The children’s learning and development is tracked and followed by me and recorded on a termly basis. Assessments are made regularly in the form of progress summaries and tracking following the Early Years Foundation Stage.

My Experience
I have worked in many different Childcare settings for over 15 years now. I have a high level of knowledge of the EYFS, planning and observing children’s development while learning through play.

My son George started with Gemma in October 2021. He's been there nearly 6 weeks now and Gemma has gone out of her way to make him feel settled and loved. He's such a happy boy when he's there and I have no issues dropping him off in a morning. He goes straight to Gemma or her children to play.
His speech and walking has come on so much this last week or two and loves going to play areas and outdoorsy stuff with her and the other children under Gemma's care.
I would 100% recommend LittleGems as a brilliant choice for childcare. She makes going to work everyday a little bit easier.
