About Me

I've been a childminder for 13 years and live in central Tonbridge. I am married and live with our blended family, which includes four teenaged daughers, our dog and a couple of friendly reptiles.

I am a Level 3 Forest School leader and take part in bi-weekly Forest School sessions. I love the outdoors and actively encourage the children to learn about and respect their natural environment. I also spend a lot of time with other childminders, offering the children in my setting a 'home away from home' environment with the unique bonus of full socialisation with other children and adults. We attend a private Musical Bumps session once a week, which includes the children from my setting and other children they know from other settings, promoting strong bonds of friendships and cooperation.

We visit local parks, other childminders homes, National Trust properties, local art exhibits, animal sanctuaries and any other place the children can be free to explore and learn at their own pace.

I plan weekly topics for the children but, as a strong advocate for child-led learning, these topics can be altered at a moments notice to whatever is currently engaging the children in active learning. I have studied Hygee and incorporate many of it's philosophies in my setting. I promote resilience, independence and self-confidence, while scaffolding the children's learning to prepare them for their next stage in education, wether it be preschool or Reception.

I am a preschool setting only. I do not offer before or after school care for school age children. This allows me to focus on the needs of my younger children and ensure the activities and experiences I offer are tailored, age appropriately, to their specific learning and development.
