hi i am nneb trained with 25 + years experience , i am educationally focussed as i have worked in schools for a lot of my career . I pride myself on preparing littleones to start nursery one step ahead of their peers, I focus on education through play, early Math, science, Literacy, and creative play. i have full knowledge of the early years foundation stage curriculum.and promote early years learning through fun age appropriate activities. I have a diploma in art and design, so i do lots of lovely creative activities with children. i am fun and an outdoors person, I love bringing the children's attention to the natural beauty around them as we walk and play in green spaces. I am a great cook and a real people person. love taking children swimming to parties and clubs I know all about what children's classes and groups are available on the childcare scene in Islington and Hackney.
My Experience
25 + years as qualified nanny /nursery nurse , i have held various positions, most recent positions have been as a sole charge Nanny in Islington for various families.i have stayed in all my nanny positions for 3 years until the children started nursery. .I have worked with children with additional needs as a one to one Learning support. i have been head of the baby room in a private nursery and cared for babies from 3months to 18 months. i have worked with all age groups in nurseries from 3 months to 5 years of age. and have run after school clubs for children aged 5 - 11 years of age. i have taught in schools as a drama and arts teacher where i worked with primary and secondary school aged children.
My Qualifications
nneb level 3 in chilcare and education, Diploma in art and design.
city and guilds Level 6 in teaching in adult and higher ed.

My wife and I, and more importantly our two young children, felt immediately at ease with Melanie from the moment we met her, and with good reason!
Melanie puts intelligence, warmth and expertise into whatever role she is fulfilling, whether it is caring for children emotionally, finding ways to entertain them, guarding their safety, or educating them.
She uses her extensive EYFS and education experience to make sure that they are constantly learning, even when they don't realise it, through carefully thought out activities.
We couldn't recommend her more highly for either a private tuition or nannying role. We have written a full reference which Melanie will be able to provide to you and are happy to provide oral references too.
