About Me
We are a family of three in North Hertfordshire looking for a calm, patient, and naturally sensitive live-out nanny for our 6-year-old daughter.Our daughter is autistic (experiencing sensory differences, rigidity, and anxiety). Because of a fear of other children, she has tutors handling her education st home for 3 hours daily. This position is strictly focused on child care; there are no general household cleaning or family housekeeping duties required.Our Approach: With our daughter her behaviour is communication, when behaviour deteriorates it means that she struggles and needs help. We do not use time-outs, sticker charts, or rewards/ punishments. Instead, our focus is entirely on supporting her with managing her emotions, validation of feelings, and collaborative problem-solving.We do not require you to be a trained therapist. We are looking for an emotionally mature, sensible caregiver who naturally leads with empathy and is happy to work within this respectful framework.What We Provide:To ensure consistency for our daughter and make your role straightforward, we have documented all of our established routines, principles, and advice into a comprehensive care handbook. This gives you a clear roadmap for everything from daily transitions to sensory and personal care (including assistance with toileting), ensuring you are fully supported and never have to guess our approach.Requirements:A naturally patient, calm, and understanding disposition.Comfort with providing sensitive, respectful personal care. willingness to align with our established routines and guidance.
