My Experience

Over the past five years, I have worked as a dedicated babysitter for children ranging from infants to school-aged children. My experience spans both full-time and part-time care, including after-school care, weekend shifts, and overnight stays. I’ve worked with various families, adapting to each household’s routines, parenting styles, and the specific developmental needs of each child.

Key Responsibilities:

• Daily care and routines: Provided age-appropriate care including feeding, diaper changes, nap schedules, bathing, and dressing. For older children, I helped with morning and bedtime routines, school prep, and personal hygiene guidance.
• Educational & Creative Play: Planned and engaged children in stimulating activities that promoted learning and creativity such as reading, drawing, puzzles, music, and storytelling. I also helped with early learning skills like counting, phonics, and writing.
• Emotional Support: Built trusting relationships with the children through consistent communication, patience, and emotional attentiveness. I maintained a calm, comforting presence to support children through separation anxiety, sibling rivalry, or emotional outbursts.
• Safety & Supervision: Ensured the children’s safety at all times, both indoors and outdoors. This included child-proofing environments, supervising playtime, and maintaining close watch in public spaces like parks or community centres.
• Meal Preparation & Nutrition: Prepared healthy meals and snacks according to dietary preferences or allergies. In one case, I supported a toddler with food intolerances by learning alternative recipes that met nutritional needs while being allergen-free.
• Light Household Duties: Assisted with laundry, toy organization, and tidying common play and eating areas, helping to reduce the load for working parents.
• Emergency Handling: Trained in Pediatric First Aid and CPR.
