Ruby
Nanny in London: Barnet
My Summary
About Me
Hi, I’m Ruby! I’m passionate about supporting young children to grow, explore, and feel confident in themselves. Over the past 8 years, I’ve worked closely with children in nursery settings and as a nanny, helping them learn, play, and develop in fun and engaging ways.
I love getting to know each child’s unique personality and interests, and creating activities that support their learning, confidence, and development. I would describe my approach as child-led, encouraging curiosity, creativity, and independence through play and everyday experiences. I enjoy planning activities, outings, and playdates, and supporting daily routines such as meals, naps, and potty training.
Since becoming a mum recently, I understand even more the importance of warmth, consistency, and a nurturing environment. I pride myself on building trusting relationships with both children and parents, maintaining open communication so families feel confident and supported. I am looking for part-time opportunities where I can share my passion for helping children grow in happy, safe, and stimulating environments.
My Experience
I have over 8 years of experience working with young children. I began my career in nursery settings, where I worked as part of a team creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. I planned engaging activities based on the EYFS framework to support children’s learning and development through play and exploration.
I later became the room leader for the preschool room, leading a small team with one assistant. In this role, I managed children’s developmental folders and observations in line with EYFS, planned stimulating activities to support their progress, and held regular meetings with parents to discuss their child’s development. I also spent time working in a pre-prep school as an Early Years teacher, focusing on the EYFS curriculum and supporting children’s learning through structured, play-based activities.
Most recently, I worked as a nanny for three years caring for two boys, a role I truly loved. I really enjoyed building a close bond with them, getting to know their personalities and interests, and creating fun, engaging activities based on what they were curious about. I supported their daily routines including meals, naps, outings and potty training, organised playdates and trips to parks and local activities, and created a calm, nurturing environment where they felt happy and confident. I also built a lovely relationship with their parents and maintained open daily communication about the children’s experiences and development.
