Hi :) My name is Farhat and I am an Ofsted-registered childminder with over 20 years of experience, based in Watford.

In my most recent Ofsted inspection I was awarded good ratings across all areas, reflecting my commitment to providing high-quality care and education.
I am located a short walk from the Watford Underground, Overground rail stations and Intu Watford Shopping Centre.
With a home full of a large variety of toys, a spacious garden, and regular outings to toddler groups, I strive an enriching and engaging experience for every child. I believe in fostering independence, building confidence, and encouraging children to reach their full potential.

My Experience
I have been a childminder for 20 years and have extensive experience working with children of all ages, from as young as three months up to school age.
Over the years, I have cared for many children and built strong, trusting relationships with both the children and their families.
I am passionate about supporting each child’s development, providing them with a nurturing environment where they can grow, learn, and thrive.
I can provide excellent references from parents who are highly satisfied with the quality of care and education I offer.
My Qualifications
- Ofsted Registered Childminder for 21 years
[Achieved good ratings in all areas in my 2024 inspection]
- Paediatric First Aid Certificate
- Safeguarding Children Training
- EYFS Training
- Enhanced DBS Clear
- Full UK Driving Licence (held for 23 years)
- Up-to-date Risk Assessments
- Regular attendance at relevant training courses to ensure best practices
My Availability
I offer flexible hours to accommodate the needs of parents and children, with availability Monday to Friday, from 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM.
I provide the school run to Chater Infants School if required.
I am pleased to offer all available government-funded childcare options, including:
- 15 hours free childcare for 2-year-olds
- 15 hours free childcare for 3- and 4-year-olds
- 30 hours free childcare for working parents of 3- and 4-year-olds
- Tax-Free Childcare scheme, where eligible parents can save up to 20% on childcare costs
- Free childcare for children aged 9-23 months
(All above subject to eligibility)

In addition to weekday care, I can offer weekend care for exceptional / emergency circumstances at a base rate of £10/hour.
Currently, I have 2 vacancies for under 5s and 2 vacancies for children over 5.

- Childminding from £8.00 per hour
Standard fees are currently £8/hour for full time contracts, and £8.50//hour for part time.

From the moment we met Farhat, it was obvious that caring for children isn't just her job—it's something she genuinely loves. The love she has for my daughter shines through in everything she does, and the feeling is very much mutual. My daughter absolutely adores her and is always happy and excited to see her.
She has created such a warm, loving home environment that children instantly feel safe, secure, and cared for. As a parent, there is an enormous sense of relief in knowing that when I drop my daughter off, she is with someone who treats her with such kindness, patience, and genuine affection.
What I particularly value is the balance Farhat strikes between structure and fun. She provides the children with the routines and consistency they need to thrive, while making every day enjoyable, engaging, and full of play. The children are encouraged to learn, explore, and build confidence, all within an environment that feels nurturing and supportive.

I honestly recommend Farhat to all parents looking for a childminder. My daughter was 12months old when she first started going and had never been left with anyone other than grandma, and never napped other than in her cot or a sling on me.. She had major separation anxiety… but you can tell Farhat’s experience as she managed to get her to sleep and eat and my daughter is always smiling when I pick her up which is what matters the most.
Another very important point is that she has been flexible with me too which is hugely appreciated!

after 1 year in maternity leave i had to find a childminder for my little Ana and i found Farhat on the begging i was scared because i didn't know how will be but Farhat was very nice,she help me a lot,she text me every hour on the begging to let me know how was my daughter and also helped me with advices,i'm very happy with her and the most important is my daughter is very happy with her,she is happy all the time when i'm leaving her with Farhat and this is giving me a very good and safe feeling.thank you Farhat for all your care for our daughter! Ana is loving you ❣️❣️

Farhat is and has been an excellent childminder for our 18 month old daughter Mia. Always considerate and mindful towards Mia’s development and feelings. We see her glow and grow around Farhat. Farhat makes sure her group of kids can learn from each other. Mia learns new words, skills, dance moves and songs every week.
On top of that, Farhat has always been flexible and we love how she treats us with an open mind and heart. You can definitely trust your child with a wonderful person like her!

Farhat has been an absolute God send, my daughter loves her days with her and always goes with a smile on her face :). Farhat has always been available even at short notice and really been helpful since I've returned to work xx

My twins have been going to Farhaat since last year summer and I can't fault the care at all.
They are well looked after and loved. I was definitely nervous leaving the girls so young but she was the first childminder I had seen where the girls were immediately comfortable. They have grown so much individually and together it's so lovely to see. They can be a handful at times but I have no doubts when they are in her care as they are always happy to go and always happy when I pick them up I know they have had a great day. It's definitely more of a family/friendship as opposed to a childminder/parent relationship. I'm so happy I found her and she was happy having my girls.
I would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking.

Farhat has looked after my daughter for over 2 years, since 2015.
Farhat was extremely patient, allowing my daughter time to settle in.
She has always been very flexible with days which I have really appreciated as a working mum.
Farhat is extremely approachable and welcoming and provides all the children in her care with the upmost love and support.
There is no doubt that they are all very well looked after.
Farhat has become like a family member. Although my daughter is now at preschool, I know that I can always rely on Farhat to help out when needed.
I have so much respect for Farhat and highly recommend her services. My daughter is now a thriving 3 year old and Farhat has had a large part to play in that.
