I'm Maria Carolina, I’m Brazilian and I'm 24 years old. I love to sing, watch series and movies, specially Disney ones, spending time with my friends and reading about the English history, I love to learn about Tudors and Yorks.
I have always loved kids and since I was 8 years old I've liked to take care of children younger than me. I guess this came from helping my mom with my older brother, he has cerebral palsy, so I helped him a lot growing up.
I always consider myself a dreaming person, always dreamed about leaving the country and at 19 I did it for the first time. I went to a voluntary exchange in Italy, as a teacher assistant and in one of my weekends I visit England and France, I confess I felt in love with London. So, 5 years ago I decided that I would do my master in London and stay for good. While we were at the pandemic I took the opportunity of online classes o my law degree and I came to the uk to work as an aupair, improve my English and try to save money for the master. I stayed there 1 year and 4 months. 6 months in Wantage - Oxfordshire and 11 months in London with my most recent host family.
My Experience
I was always in love with children and having a big family. I have a niece who is currently 14 years old and since she was born I have helped her mother.
I have experience with older children and recreation, I worked as a teacher assistant in a voluntary exchange I did in Italy. When I did my exchange in Italy I also helped my host mom there who had a 9 year old son.
In Brazil, I worked as a nanny helping my neighbor to take care of her son from his 3 months to his 1 year and 5 months. In addition, I have always enjoyed taking care of the children of my cousins and my disabled brother, he has mild cerebral palsy and I have always helped my mother to take care of him and his activities.
I was an aupair in Wantage - Oxfordshire and I used to take care of 3 kids: G2, B7 and B8. I stayed with them for 6 months, unfortunately I had to leave them, they only needed an aupair for summer holidays and after that I found a family in London.
In Wantage I also used to work as a weekend nanny for a 6 year old autistic girl, she was lovely and we became so close that I ended up being her godmother.
In London I worked for 11 months to my most recently host family. I used to take care of a G3 and B1. When I started the baby boy was just 4 months, I used to help and stay in solo charge of him for 6 hours everyday. I loved to spend my time with them, got really close to both of the kids, specially the boy (I used to spend most of my time with him).
On my free time during the weekdays, I used to babysit a baby girl for 2 hours everyday, while her mom was doing household chores. When I started she was just 3 month old and I helped them for 7 months.
Most recently I was working for 3 different families:
On Mondays to Thursdays I was working as a nanny for a 4 month old baby girl while her mom was working.
On Mondays, Wednesday and Thursdays afternoon I was working as an after school nanny taking care of 2 girls 5 and 7.
On Tuesdays and Fridays I was working for my old host family, helping with the 1 year old boy and 3 years old girl.
I have always maintained a great relationship with my employers and so they would be pleased to be my references.
My Qualifications
I'm able to take care of children of all ages, including newborns. I was the nanny of my neighbor's son since her first 4 months and I worked as an aupair taking care of two boys with 7 and 8 years and one little girl with 2 years old. Besides that, I also worked as an aupair taking care of G3 and B1 and when I started he was just 4 month old. I used to babysit a baby girl with 3 month old and I helped her mom for 7 months.
I have special need experience working as a nanny taking care of a 6 year old autistic girl and I also have experience helping my brother who has cerebral palsy.
