I am happy to work with local families to provide SEN Tutoring or babysitting services. I am fully insured for both services.
My Experience
I am a Grandma, Mum to 4 grown-up children and a qualified teacher. I have experience of Mainstream Secondary and Nursery Teaching in local OFSTED outstanding schools and most recently in an inspiring SLD PMLD setting. I have experience of the EYFS and love to teach through play. I have Homeschool tutored in the last Lockdown and babysit for local families.
My Qualifications
I have a BEd degree in Home Economics
I have current Safeguarding Training
I have Herts Steps Therapeutic behaviour management training
I have a current Food Hygiene Certificate
I have been First Aid Paediatric trained but need to update this.
I have a current DBS on the update service.
My Availability
I am available to pick up from Camp, Fleetville, Oakwood or Cunningham Hill Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays until July 2021. Please see chart for further availability.

Jane has been looking after our 6 year old son for over 6 months, 3 days a week as an after school nanny and tutor.
Jane thinks of fun activities, and helps our son with his homework as well as preparing his after school meal. Often she will encourage our son to get involved in the food preparation and also brings resources for crafts and other practical activities.
Jane has been wonderful for our family as a reliable and capable child carer - she is versatile in her approach and gives us so much confidence that our child is in good hands.

Jane has been helping our daughter with some one-on-one tutoring over the past year and I couldn’t recommend her more highly.
She is always punctual, professional and has great communication. She arrives with a different bag of activities every week for my daughter and never ceases to inspire imagination and play. She is focused and will use play to develop key skills like phonics and numbers.
My daughter loves her time with Jane and often asks if Jane can stay all day and play!

Jane has been wonderful with our 4yo bilingual daughter. She’s made the learning experience so much fun and helped her to better focus and listen as she’s preparing to start reception in September. It was amazing to see the difference in our daughter’s behaviour even after the first week and the boost in her confidence.
Jane always comes with a big bag full of different activities, adapts the session based on moods and needs, uses different teaching techniques to keep the child engaged. She’s very experienced, kind and patient.
She keeps us in the loop by sharing a detailed summary and some photos/videos after each session. We’re very happy to have her.
