I am a third year student studying at Brookes who does childcare work part time. I have four years experience with children ranging from ages 11 weeks to 10 years old.

I have had four years of childcare experience, having looked after three different groups of children in the almost three years that I have had in Oxford. I have had childcare jobs for most of my working career and each time I thoroughly enjoy the experience I get from meeting the new families and getting to know the children better. I tend to take on more of a gentle approach, talking openly about topics that they choose to speak about, giving space and understanding boundaries with each other and their siblings, letting mistakes happen and talking about what we can do better next time. I tend to do a lot of cooking in my previous jobs as I really enjoy it and teaching the kids various skills and letting them see what they will be eating for dinner. As well as experimenting with making new dinners and trying new things every now and then. I am open to occasional overnight stays if needed but would not like for it to be a weekly thing. I have primary experience with younger children and have not looked after 11-16.
I am currently with a family up until June 2024. But will be back in the Colchester area after that.
