About Me
Hi, I’m Sue Hunt and I live with my husband Trev and my youngest daughter, Jess. We have lived here for over 20 years and I became a childminder in 1999. I have a very friendly and welcoming home, with extended family who live nearby and regularly pop around, soon enough the children gain a new set of ‘grandparents’. There is lots to do, people to meet and things to learn, in a safe and enjoyable environment.
I became a childminder as I love spending time with children, encouraging them to develop, grow and gain their own little personalities as well as being there to support my own girls during their school years. Doesn’t time fly they are both well-adjusted adults working in their chosen careers and my first minded little girl is not so little anymore.
From my own experiences I know finding the right childcare is hard and leaving your special little ones is never easy. However, in my care I promise to make it as stress-free as possible, forming positive relationship with you and your child by working in a close partnership, reinforcing family values, beliefs and routines from home.
As a childminder, the children and I spend lots of time experiencing new and exciting things. On a Tuesday and Thursday we visit a local childminder run playgroup with lots of space to run around and meet new children as well as arts and crafts at home such as finger painting, making cards and planting flowers in the fully enclosed garden.

I AM A REGISTERED CHILDMINDER WITH OVER 19 YEARS EXPERIENCE. I CAN CATER FOR CHILDREN FROM 0 TO 12 YEARS AND MY CHARGES ARE VERY COMPETITIVE. I HAVE EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN I.E. AUTISM. I AM A MEMBER OF THE MAYBANK AND DISTRICT CHILDMINDERS GROUP TOO. AT MY LAST OFSTED INSPECTION I RECEIVED A 'GOOD'. THE REPORT IS AVAILABLE TO VIEW ON THE OFSTED WEBSITE.
I HAVE FORMED POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS WITH PARENTS AND WORK IN CLOSE PARTNERSHIP WITH THEM TO ENSURE THEIR CHILDREN ARE CARED FOR IN ACCORDANCE WITH THEIR WISHES. I AM VERY APPROACHABLE AND WOULD BE HAPPY FOR YOU TO VISIT TO ACTUALLY SEE WHAT I CAN OFFER. I AM IN REGULAR CONTACT WITH SEVERAL OTHER CHILDMINDERS AND MY SISTER (ALSO A CHILDMINDER) IS AVAILABLE TO COVER FOR HOLIDAYS.

My Qualifications
I HAVE COMPLETED THE DIPLOMA IN HOME-BASED CHILDCARE, GRADE A, I HAVE A FIRST AID CERTIFICATE, SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN TRAINING, FOOD HYGIENE CERTIFICATE AND I REGULARLY ATTEND TRAINING COURSES TO HELP KEEP ME UPTO DATE WITH ALL POLICIES AND PROCEDURES ETC.

My daughter has been with Sue since just under 1 years old and does 2 days at nursery and a day a week with Sue. Despite only currently doing a day a week with Sue, she settled so quickly and is really thriving. Within a few sessions she was waving me off happily at the door and wandering off with Sue to play with her favourite toys which made it so much easier to leave her knowing she was happy. We live nearby and at the weekend she often points to Sue's street and wants to go past the house and wave hello.
Sue has encouraged and helped my daughter with her speech and her eating which has always been a challenge at home. So much so that we send her to Sue's with new foods to try as she is in such a good routine with her meals there. She gets to try lots of different activities and trips out to toddler group, softplay and Trentham Gardens and has loved playing in the back garden all summer.
Sue sends me regular pictures and gives me a full debrief of the day at pick up time which I really appreciate.
I would highly recommend Sue and the fun, caring enviroment she provides. Myself and more importantly my daughter are very happy there.

Whilst Sue is not my twin sons direct childminder she has regular contact with them (local playgroups etc) and has cared for them when my regular childminder has been on holidays.
Sue has a very warm, kind and caring approach with the boys and they are very happy and content in her care. She provides a safe, secure and homely environment with a wide range of toys indoors and outdoors.
I would reccomend Sue as a childminder without hesitation ?
