About Me
My name is Samantha and I am a registered childminder with Care Inspectorate Wales serving Pontprennau area.
I am able to provide extensive childminding services that allows children to thrive in their development and learning in a warm and caring home-based setting. I am registered to care for children from 0 -12 years old.
I live with my husband, Chris, who is a primary school teacher, and my two children. We live in a quiet area of Pontprennau. The property has ample off-road parking for dropping off and picking up. We live in a non-smoking household. We have 3 cute and fluffy Ragdoll cats called Daisy, Bertie and Betty.
My services are open to all children and families regardless of gender, ethnicity and culture, religion or family background. I communicate predominantly through English but offer a bilingual service so your child can explore their Welsh background as well as embrace other cultures to allow them to become a well-rounded global citizen. I aim to meet all the needs of all children in my care. Your child will be cared for equally and fairly, regardless of any additional needs or special requirements they may have.
My Experience
I have vast experience in child care and education. I've worked as a behavioural specialist before working in a primary school setting in 2010 and have experience working in all year groups from Nursery to Year 6. This gave me the opportunity to see, first-hand, the development of children in their education, and I have focused my professional development on ensuring I have up to date knowledge and understanding in current trends in children’s development.
I have in depth knowledge and understanding of Early Years and Foundation Phase teaching and learning techniques. I reflect on my previous experiences, as well as continue my professional development, and share this with other families in a friendly, caring home-based childcare setting where all children will feel happy, safe and settled.
My Qualifications
BA Hons in Literature, Introduction to Home-Based Childcare & Preparing for Childminder Practice, Immediate First Aid and Paediatric First Aid.
I am continuing to attend webinars and meetings based on education and child development and will continue with my own professional development.
My Availability
I currently have space for wraparound care to Pontprennau Primary School. I have a number of days available for full time, part time and wraparound care.

I can not speak highly enough of Sam and the wonderful care she gives my daughter. She is so calm and patient and loving, having had her own children makes her acutely aware of the needs of both baby and parent when being left for the very first time and she ensured this transition was as painless as possible for both of us.
The activities she creates each day are so imaginative and creative. Lots of sensory and messy play, I swear my child has more attention and stimulation at Sam's than she does with me! Great variety in the days with trips out and activities indoors if the weather is bad.
Excellent food choices.
Excellent communication, lots of beautiful photos taken and sent to me at the end of each day. A handy little booklet detailing all activities and food/naps/changes etc
Honestly I would hands down reccomended Sam. We are so lucky to have found her!!
