About Me
We are a friendly, relaxed family looking for someone kind, patient and trustworthy to help care for our 2 year old son, Leo.
Leo is a very happy, cheeky and affectionate little boy who loves exploring, playing and being around people. He has epilepsy and some developmental delays, so finding someone we feel completely comfortable and confident leaving him with is really important to us.
We also have an older daughter, Amelia, who is 10, although the childcare we are currently looking for is primarily for Leo.
We are hoping to find someone who can become a familiar and trusted person in Leo’s life, rather than simply someone providing occasional babysitting.
My Requirements
We are looking for regular childcare for our 2 year old son, Leo, after unexpectedly finding out that the nursery place we thought we had secured for September is not actually available until September 2027.
Ideally, we are looking for an experienced and qualified nanny or childcare professional who has an enhanced DBS check, paediatric first aid qualification and good references.
Leo has epilepsy, developmental delays and follows a specialist ketogenic diet as part of his medical treatment. Experience with children with SEND, additional needs, epilepsy or medical needs would therefore be a big advantage. However, we would also consider the right person who is confident, attentive and willing to learn about Leo’s individual needs and undertake any necessary training.
His meals are prepared and carefully weighed for his ketogenic diet, so we need someone who is comfortable following instructions very precisely and not giving him any additional food or drinks without checking first.
We are looking for someone nurturing and engaging who will play with Leo, support his development, encourage his communication and physical skills, take him out for suitable activities/walks and help him enjoy a varied day.
Most importantly, we need someone dependable, calm and safety-conscious who we can build a trusting relationship with and who will take the time to really get to know Leo.
