Having graduated with a double first class honours degree in Education Studies from Cambridge University this July, I am looking to continue with my passion for nannying. Areas studied include child psychology and learning, language and literacy development, philosophy of education and education and social issues. I am passionate about the creative arts and this informs my nanny practice. I also work part time as a tutor for children aged 4+ and am happy to support in 7,8, 11 and 13+ examination and interview preparation as well as general academic support for children with additional needs or who need extra stretch or support.
My Experience
I have nearly 5 years of childcare experience, which began with volunteering at a creche. There, I helped infants and toddlers create arts and crafts so I have a repertoire of activities to engage your child with. I also lead story and snack time. Alongside this, I held down a Saturday job as a Teaching and Marking Assistant for Kumon, which involved one-on-one mentoring of primary school aged children to develop their confidence and academic abilities. Children I personally mentored at this time gained admission to competitive secondary schools and I enjoyed developing nurturing relationships with them.
Since then, I have held multiple live-in childcare jobs. Of the first two, one of them involved both shared and sole charge of a little boy aged 2.5 and revolved around imaginative role play, arts and crafts and trips to the park. The other required me to pick up and drop off 3 children aged 3,6 and 9 to and from school and nursery (using the London tube) co-ordinate homework once back and cook them a healthy dinner. I have held Holiday Nanny positions for UHNW families over the Christmas and summer periods. Thus I am used to round the clock sole charge with and moving between the city and countryside. Most recently, I worked as a new-born nanny and mothers help for a family with a 6 week old son and 3 year old daughter, performing all typical nursery duties.
I believe with my educational background, friendly personality, sporty and active disposition, sense of fun and wealth of childcare experience I would be the ideal candidate for a childcare position. I am also triple vaccinated, hold a clear DBS on the update service and hold a 12 hour paediatric first aid certificate that is compliant with Ofsted and the Department of Education's regulations. I am also a British citizen and UK passport holder. Most of all, I am happy to get stuck into a household and look forward to hearing from you!
My Qualifications
BA (Hons) (Cantab) in Education, Policy and International Development.
Advanced DBS check, Paediatric First aid certificate, Level 2 Food Preparation and Nutrition qualification.
10 GCSEs at Grades A-A*; 3 A-Levels at Grade A*.
