I offer warm, reliable and nurturing childcare, built on over 30 years of professional experience caring for children from newborn through to young adults.
My priority is to provide a safe, happy and stimulating environment where children feel valued, secure and supported to develop at their own pace. I enjoy planning age-appropriate activities that encourage learning through play, creativity, exploration and fun, while also supporting children's emotional wellbeing, confidence and independence.
With extensive experience as both a nanny and a Teaching Assistant, I understand the importance of building strong relationships with children and their families. I work closely with parents to ensure continuity of care and to support each child's individual needs, routines and interests.
I also hold a BA (Hons) in Childhood Studies with a Special Educational Needs specialism, giving me a strong understanding of child development, inclusion and supporting children with additional needs.
Whether caring for babies, toddlers school-aged children, I am committed to providing high-quality childcare that enables children to thrive in a caring, positive and enriching environment.
My Experience
I gained my N.N.E.B qualification from Barnet College in 1993. As part of my training, I completed placements in a maternity ward, nursery, primary school and crèche, providing me with valuable experience across a range of childcare settings. During my studies, I also completed an in-depth child study, which led directly to my first nanny position.
Following qualification, I worked as a nanny for several years before travelling to New Zealand, Australia and Thailand in 1998. While living in Sydney, I took on a live-in nanny role, allowing me to continue my passion for childcare while gaining valuable international experience.
After returning to the UK, I resumed nannying and continued supporting families. Following the birth of my daughter in 2006, I chose to reduce my working hours to achieve a better work-life balance. During this period, I cared for a young boy close in age to my daughter and later his younger sibling, giving me extensive experience caring for three children under the age of three. This was a particularly rewarding role, which I held for three years before taking maternity leave to have my son.
After relocating to Whitstable, I further developed my professional qualifications by achieving CACHE Level 2 and Level 3 Diplomas in Childcare at Canterbury College while working as a Teaching Assistant in a local primary school. I remained in this role for 12 years, supporting children's learning, development and wellbeing.
More recently, I completed a BA (Hons) in Childhood Studies with a Special Educational Needs specialism at Canterbury Christ Church University. This degree has deepened my understanding of child development, inclusion and supporting children with additional needs.
I am passionate about providing children with a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where they feel valued, develop confidence and are encouraged to reach their full potential. I pride myself on building positive relationships with both children and their families and supporting every child as an individual.
