Amber
Babysitter in London: Lambeth
My Summary
About Me
I’m a warm, creative, and nurturing nanny with hands-on experience supporting children of all ages. I love creating a fun, safe environment, whether that’s through storytelling, imaginative play, or simply being a calm and reassuring presence.
Since moving to Clapham, I worked for five months as a regular weekly nanny for three girls (including twins), doing school pick-ups, taking them to clubs, cooking dinner, and supporting their evening routine. Alongside this, I worked through a London agency in a forest nursery with 1–2 year olds, supporting early development through outdoor play, as well as carrying out nappy changes, feeding, and supervision. I also worked in a relief care home in London supporting children with additional needs.
Previously, I spent a year with The Mungo Foundation in Glasgow, supporting vulnerable children with complex needs, developing strong skills in safeguarding, personal care, and behaviour support. I’ve also babysat regularly for younger children aged 1–5.
I’m currently completing my primary teaching training. During the Easter holidays I’m available for ad hoc babysitting and last-minute care, but I’m unable to commit to a fixed weekly schedule due to placement.
I’m based in Clapham and am reliable, adaptable, and committed to providing high-quality, nurturing care.
My Experience
I have hands-on childcare experience across a range of ages and settings. Most recently, I worked as a weekly nanny in Clapham for three girls (including twins), managing school pick-ups, clubs, dinner, and evening routines. Alongside this, I completed regular shifts through a London agency in a forest nursery with 1–2 year olds, supporting early development through outdoor play, as well as nappy changing, feeding, and supervision. I also worked in a London-based relief care home supporting children with additional and complex needs.
Previously, I spent a year with The Mungo Foundation in Glasgow as a Relief Worker, supporting vulnerable children with complex needs. This involved personal care, safeguarding, medication, behaviour support, and adapting to each child’s individual needs.
I also have experience caring for younger children, including looking after a 2-year-old weekly during Covid and regular babysitting for children aged 1–5. I’m confident with all aspects of childcare and always focus on creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.
My Qualifications
I hold a Master of Arts with Honours in Social Policy and Sociology (2:1) from the University of Edinburgh, where I developed a strong understanding of child development, social issues, and supporting vulnerable populations.
I'm SSSC Registered (Scottish Social Services Council), which demonstrates my commitment to professional standards in social care and safeguarding. I also have A-Levels in Drama (A), English (B), and Psychology (B), which have given me valuable insights into child development and communication.
I have now completed my first placement as part of my PGCE in Primary Teaching at the University of Cumbria’s London campus, reflecting my long-term commitment to working with children and education. I also bring professional training in first aid, safeguarding, medication administration, and risk assessment from my work with The Mungo Foundation.
My Availability
I’m currently completing my Primary Teaching training, so my availability is more flexible rather than fixed. During the Easter holidays, I’m available for ad hoc babysitting, last-minute arrangements, and occasional daytime or evening care.
Due to placement commitments, I’m unable to commit to a consistent weekly schedule at the moment, but I’m very happy to support families on a flexible, as-needed basis. I’m based in Clapham and ideally looking for local opportunities where I can be a reliable and supportive extra pair of hands.
My Fees
- Babysitting from £15.00 per hour
I would hope to earn around £15 an hour for one child, £17 an hour for two, and around £20 an hour for three or more, though I’m always happy to chat and be flexible depending on the situation.
