Looking for after-school nanny with SEND experience
About Me
We are a family of 4, with two autistic boys, aged 6 and 4 based in Forest Hill. We are looking for an after-school nanny with SEND experience for our older son who attends our local special school, Brent Knoll. Our son is joyful, playful and easygoing boy who loves to laugh, chat and joke around. He can communicate his needs well verbally, and he is about 2 years behind in his overall development. He is toilet-trained, but still needs some prompting and supervision. He is easily entertained and chatty, and develops relationships easily.
We'd love for you to pick him up after school and take him into the Forest Hill community after school, where there are lots of activities he enjoys within easy walking distance (less than half a mile) from the school, such as the local park, soft play, library or cafe. We are also happy for nannies to take him home occasionally and look after him there (especially in the winter). We live less than half a mile from Forest Hill station and the school is about the same distance from there as well.
We have care in place for our younger autistic son, but may consider ad hoc arrangements for care for him as well, if there is interest.
My Requirements
Part-time after-school pick-up and care for 3hrs Mon, Wed and Fri for autistic primary school-age boy. Looking for someone to:
- collect him from Brent Knoll, at 3:15pm on Mon/Wed, and 2:30pm on Fri
- take him to various activities walking distance or short bus ride from school (local park, soft play, cafe, library, Horniman museum)
- personal care (toilet trained but still needs prompting and supervision)
- drop off at home, which is 0.5 miles from school and from Forest Hill station/high street
