Fran
Private Tutor in Cotton End (also available for babysitting)
My Summary
About Me
I love spending time with children and followed this passion into becoming a Primary Teacher. I enjoy all aspects of childcare and am interested in nannying during summer holidays, ad-hoc babysitting or private tutoring.
Children are fantastic to be around with their inquisitive, care free little minds. I love arts and crafts and letting a child's imagination take over. I could spend hours digging through Pinterest to find fun and exciting activities to do!
My childhood included lots of animals and being outside in all weathers. Spending quality time outside and getting muddy is so beneficial for children. During my degree Forest School became a passion of mine and this led to starting a level 3 Forest School Leader qualification. I also completed a dissertation on the benefits of forest school.
My interests include arts and crafts, baking/cooking, walking my two Jack Russells (Binky and Bumble), exploring new places and reading.
I take pride in being organised - there is nothing wrong with having a list for your lists!
My Experience
I have worked with children aged 1 - 11 in both educational, home, nursery and Forest School settings.
I have gained valuable experience working with children with SEND. I have worked closely with children who have Austism, anxiety, hearing impairment, behavioural challenges, speech and language delays and ADHD.
As a teacher I have shown that I can plan and prepare exciting learning opportunities. I am also able to think on my feet and react quickly and accordingly. I also spent a term working as a Nursery Teacher providing me with experience in implementing the Development Matters framework.
I have continued my passion of teaching children and offer home tutoring. Tutoring sessions are tailored to suit the needs of the child. I aim to create a fun learning environment where the child can build their confidence as a learner.
I have been gaining experience through babysiting for 15 years. My first job was to babysit my neighbours children so they could have date night! I have babysat for a variety of clients to suit their needs - holiday babysitting, last minute babysitting, after-school care, daytime or nighttime care.
My role has required me to collect from school, prepare and cook meals, carry out bed time routines, entertain during the day and facilitate day trips.
