About Me

My name is Maisie and I have a passion for encouraging confidence and independence in the children I care for, inspired by Montessori style play and learning.
I have been a qualified Ofsted registered childminder since March 2025, and I have five years experience working with children. I am also a mum myself to my 3 year old son Esrah.
I endeavour to spark imagination and creativity through my activities using colourful visual learning aids and child-friendly cosy areas so your child feels happy and settled while they’re here!
My new setting will be split between a large garden, gross motor playroom, a class/work room and an amazing self contained messy play outbuilding to support a balanced day of stimulating activities, group interactions, free flow play, creative discovery and physical and mental development.
My toys are thoughtfully chosen to compliment and consolidate children’s learning milestones, I have a mixture of music and light up toys, role play and dress up, montessori open ended toys, figures/animals, and lots of puzzles, as well as lots of movement tools like a spinning chair, soft play blocks, gym mat, and climbing equipment which will be perfect for children who like to keep active.
Located in the central part of Cheddar, on Cliff Street at the foot of the gorge, backing onto a beautiful stream, my home provides the perfect spot for your little one to relax, learn, play and grow.
Outdoor Adventures: With a spacious garden and nearby parks within walking distance, your child will enjoy plenty of fresh air and exploration.
I love taking the children on outings to explore the world around them, so they’re given lots of opportunities to visit the library, local playgroups and farms

My Experience
I have five years experience working with children, and have been an Ofsted registered childminder since March 2025.
My wonderful families of my current minded children have provided beautiful testimonials on how their children have settled and developed in my care.
I was also a Level 3 primary school teaching assistant for a year before being a mum myself and I have spent time on placement at a few nurseries with pre-school age children. During this time I was trained on delivering phonics and early numeracy and literacy to children.

My Availability
My availability is flexible, drop me a message with your requirements and I’ll get back to you if I can accommodate them.
My Fees
- Childminding from £8.00 per hour
SPACES AVAILABLE FROM JULY 2026.
I offer government funded 15 hours, and any hours over that will be charged at my hourly rate (voluntary contribution for consumables may be requested) .
I am open between 8am-4:30pm at a daily rate charge of £65, or £8 per hour after government funding has been utilised.
All food is provided at an additional requested cost of £3 per day.
Child must attend a minimum of 8 hours a week.
I’m open year round including school holidays. I have some holiday only places for children who are 4-8 years old.
I accept bank transfer and tax free childcare payments.
Full pricing and fees policy can be sent upon request.

Our daughter has been with Maisie for the last 6 months and we truly could not have hoped for a more nurturing, thoughtful start for her.
Our daughter settled with Maisie instantly, which says so much about the warm and welcoming environment she creates. Her setting is beautifully planned out with meaningful activities every day, and she clearly puts a huge amount of thought into the resources, play opportunities and overall atmosphere for the children. The children also go out daily on lovely outings to places such as Little Farmers and Ocean Adventurers, which our daughter has absolutely loved.
Maisie communicates so well throughout the day and sends daily photographs and updates, which has always been so reassuring and special to receive. She provides wonderful healthy, varied meals and our daughter has eaten so many lovely foods while with her.
What has stood out most to us is how well Maisie reads each child individually. She always seems to know when our daughter needs extra cuddles and reassurance, or when to encourage her independence and creativity instead. Our daughter has come on leaps and bounds developmentally during her time there.
Maisie has also been an incredibly kind and supportive person to us as a family during some difficult periods, and we will always be grateful for the care, warmth and thoughtfulness she showed us all.
We are so sad to be leaving and will miss her hugely. I would recommend her wholeheartedly to any family looking for a nurturing, intentional and child-centred environment for their little one.

My daughter and son have been with Maisie now for 6 months and absolutely love it and thrive there under her care and guidance. Maisie is a great caregiver - warm, nurturing, and truly attentive. The setting is cosy and welcoming, full of lovely toys and activities that keep the children happily engaged. She has weekly educational themes for the children, provides all food for the children, and sends lovely daily updates with pictures. We feel so lucky that we found such a caring, joyful environment.
