My Summary

My Experience

I began my childcare career in 2019 through a Modern Apprenticeship at a local nursery, where I gained experience caring for children aged 0–5 years. I hold an SQA qualification in Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 7. I have also gained experience working in a local primary school, where I supported Primary Three pupils.

Throughout my childcare career, I have supported children with additional support needs and adapted daily routines and activities to meet their individual needs and preferences. I have experience supporting verbal and non-verbal communication and using visual aids, such as now-and-next boards, to help children understand routines, complete tasks and develop their independence.

Working in childcare has also allowed me to develop a range of skills and complete training relevant to children’s safety, health and wellbeing, including:

* Child safeguarding and paediatric first aid training.
* Basic food safety awareness.
* Fire safety and health and safety awareness.
* Oral health and breastfeeding training.
* Autism awareness training.
* Infection control and hygiene awareness.
* Duty of candour awareness training.
* Modern Apprenticeship training in early learning and childcare.
* Disclosure Scotland certificate.
* Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration.
* Experience communicating with parents, families and the wider public.

My experience has helped me develop a strong understanding of children’s individual needs, the importance of safeguarding and creating a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment where every child can learn, play and thrive.

My Availability

I still work in a nursery Monday to Friday. I am available on weekends and evenings. If needed, I can work after the hours of 5pm and 6pm.

My Fees

• Babysitting from £17.00 per hour
