About Me

Hi, my name is Alice and I am available for private tutoring for primary aged children (5-11 years old). I have been a primary school teacher for 10 years. My strengths lie in teaching early reading and phonics, reading comprehension skills, spelling and handwriting and mathematics.
As a teacher and tutor, I build strong relationships with my pupils, ensuring they feel safe, encouraging them to be the best they can be, and tailoring my teaching to meet their needs. I value using practical resources and games to make learning fun and memorable. I aim to find manageable targets that your child can work on that work towards improving their overall attainment and I support them to take ownership of these.

My Experience

I have a PGCE qualification (5-11 year olds) with a mathematics specialism and 10 years of teaching experience, but I have worked in education for over 15 years. My experience includes working with a huge range of different needs and many children that have English as an additional language. I also have experience of teaching, tutoring and working 1:1 with children who have Autism and other additional needs.

BA(Hons) Early childhood studies 2:1 - UWE

My Fees

  • Tutoring from £40.00 per hour
  • Babysitting from £15.00 per hour

I charge £40 an hour which includes planning, resourcing and travel. If you purchase 5 sessions at once, I charge £35 a session.
