My name is Jodie. I am 41 years old and currently living in Lambeth. I am a parent and have extensive experience working within the NHS over a number of years.
I have studied and worked as a social worker in frontline safeguarding roles, supporting children and families in complex situations. I hold up-to-date first aid training, a current DBS check, and I am a driver with my own vehicle.
I am experienced in working with children and young people from newborn through to teenage years. In addition, I have strong first-hand experience supporting children on the autistic spectrum and with ADD, informed both professionally and personally through my son, who is now 20.
My Experience
Much of my experience is grounded in my role as a parent, which has given me a strong practical understanding of children’s emotional, developmental, and day-to-day needs. Alongside this, I have worked in roles supporting children and young people in a professional capacity.
I have experience chaperoning children to medical and other essential appointments, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and emotional reassurance throughout the process. I have also worked closely with young people in care aged 16–18, supporting them as they prepare for independent living. In this role, I provided practical guidance and life-skills education, including budgeting and managing bills, basic cooking and nutrition, housekeeping, self-awareness, and building confidence to live independently.
I bring many years of personal experience as a parent to adult children aged 20 and 21, which further strengthens my ability to relate to and support young people through key stages of development and transition. I am patient, reliable, and committed to promoting independence, safety, and positive outcomes for children and young people.
My social work training and practice have strengthened my ability to assess risk, work within safeguarding frameworks, and support young people in a trauma-informed and child-centred way. This professional background is complemented by many years of personal experience as a parent to adult children aged 20 and 21, which enhances my ability to build trusting relationships and provide consistent, nurturing support.
I am committed, reliable, and compassionate, with a strong focus on promoting safety, independence, and positive outcomes for children.

BA Hons- Social Work
