About Me
Hello, I am a nanny currently working in Fairmilehead, Edinburgh. I enjoy working with children of different age groups, and enhancing their development through play alongside other areas like outdoor learning, arts and crafts and reading. I am married and have two teenage girls, and also have a white fluffy dog. I am an organised, punctual, happy, warm, kind very patient and reliable person. Over the past 4 years I have been a nanny to a set of lovely twin girls, who are off to school, so I am looking for a similar post around mid-September/early October.
My Experience
I am a qualified nursery nurse, where I worked in a nursery for a year looking after 2 to 5 year old.
I spent 13 years as a Childminder looking after babies to teenagers.
A playleader at a playgroup for 8 years looking after 2 to 4 year olds. Facilitating the playroom with various toys and equipment to offer variety amongst the children’s day including; Music, arts and crafts, sand, stories, puzzles, outdoor play and baking. A key priority during this time was to encourage children play according to their age and stage of development. Alongside, preparing healthy snacks, keeping staff training up to date, including regular first aid courses.
January 2017 to August 2022
Worked with a family for 4 years when the children were ages 9,5- and 3-year-old taking/picking up from school/nursery and taking them to afterschool activities. Helped with homework, prepared meals, carried out light housework – laundry/hoovering.
During August 2019 to June 2021, I was a nanny share with another family, where I looked after 2 families across the week for 2 years until their youngest went to school.
April 2022 – June 2024
This family I started with them in April 2022 solely on Tuesdays. They have 4 children ages 9, 5 years and 10months twins. I picked them up from nursery, took the twins to the park, toddler groups and went for walks. Prepared meals, arts and crafts, reading and nursery rhymes. I finished up with the family in June 2024, as the twins were due to start nursery.
August 2022 – June 2026
My most current family were 1 year old twin girls where I worked with them from August 2022 to June 2026. I took the twins to toddlers, library, clubs, park, walks. Activities in the house we would do arts and crafts, singing, dancing, reading, puzzles, games and playing in the garden. Prepared lunch/snack, light housework- laundry/hoovering, reorganising their toys/books/puzzles around every month to enhance their development
