About Me
I am a qualified Primary school teacher and qualified nursery nurse. I am 55 years old and have two grown up children and a grandson under one and a grandchild due in March 2022. I have just spent the last year as full time carer for my mum, who sadly passed away this summer. I am now looking to go back into the work force on a part time basis as I wish to also spend quality time with my grandchildren and friends. I live alone and am very flexible with hours etc. I don't wish to go back into a school setting but still want to continue my passion for education. I am an animal lover and an outdoor enthusiast. At the moment I am available for tutoring.
My Experience
I started my nursery nurse career working in a children's home for children under the age of seven years. I then became a childminder while my own children were young. In 1992 I began work as a special support assistant, and supported a child with Downs Syndrome throughout her Primary School years. During this time I also trained as a teacher and continued to teach children age 4-11 until 2017, when I decided to teach abroad. I taught English to kindergarten children for two years in China and most recently taught for a year in The Falkland islands where I travelled around teaching children on the farms who were unable to travel into the town to school. I have gained so must childcare experience and knowledge and I love the fact that I am still learning.
