Jorien
Looking for a part-time nanny (20 to 30 hours) for two children (5y and 9 months)
About Me
We’re a loving family of 4 in Hampstead, from a mixed background. Our children Ella (5y) and Alex (9 months in September) are raised trilingual and attending a local school / childminder. We’re looking for a nanny who will fit in with our family and build strong relationships with our children. Our philosophy is that a nanny is not a servant whom the children get to order around, nor an entertainer who needs to keep them busy at all times, but someone who can help grow them into good people. We believe in the value of free play and children contributing to the family at their level of capability. We will prioritize finding the right person over the perfect schedule.
My Requirements
Between 20 and 30 hours, primarily after school
Flexibility and reliability
Comfortable with baby tasks such as nappy changing, weaning, bottle preparation; as well as school-age children’s tasks such as homework support and playdate organising
Strong communication and responsive to feedback
Able to prepare nutritious meals for the whole family
Able to set boundaries and hold expectations of children (such as help with setting table, cleaning up their own messes, say please and thank you)
As comfortable with free play as proactive with organising activities
Educated and high level English competency (to support children’s language development and school work)
DBS check, references, and First Aid certification required
(Not required but highly valued) Dutch or Hebrew language speaker
The specifics:
Note that we are happy to be flexible on many aspects in order to find the right candidate.
Monday–Friday, following Camden school term dates
Pick up our daughter (5) from school (15 min walk) at 3:20PM
Pick up our son (9 months) from the childminder (a couple of minutes from home) afterwards
working until around 6:30pm
Occasional evening babysitting, later pick-up in case of after-school clubs or help during holidays

Peace was an invaluable presence in our home during those critical early months. Her communication was consistently clear, direct, and reassuring. She provided genuinely loving and gentle care for our newborn. Additionally, her practical advice regarding feeding and sleep routines was incredibly helpful to help us adjust as a family. We cannot recommend her highly enough.
