My Requirements

We need an after-school carer/nanny for our son. He is 6.5 and is autistic. He is nonverbal and uses PECs to make simple choices. He can have behaviour that is challenging and has no awareness of danger, so he requires high supervision. He attends a SEN school. He wears nappies.

Both of us have professional careers and so to be able to work effectively, we need someone to work from 4-6 4 days a week to support Spencer to play safely at home, supervise him, and potentially change his nappy should he need this.

We would also have hours in holidays 4hrs per week to work alongside his current carer 2:1 allowing Spencer to access the community.

We would like an adjustment period where you would get to know Spencer and learn how to care for him solo. Hes a complex child and we would only leave him once we were confident

Skills we need from you
- SEN Experience (The more complex needs exp the better)
- Patience (Spencer can be challenging)
- Energy (Spencer is non stop!)
- Calm in a crisis (Spencer can be aggressive when distressed.)
- Fun (Spencer loves adult interaction and silly games)
