About Me
We are a informal and relaxed family of four who live in central Frome who are seeking an experienced live-in nanny to care for our two little girls, Luna aged 8 and Ince aged 4 and help support our busy household. Both of us work full-time, run our own businesses and commute to London weekly so are looking for a trustworthy, reliable and organised live-in Nanny who has a proactive independent attitude to help relieve some of the day-today pressures when they are working and especially when they are away from home.

Job Title: Live-In Nanny/Family Assistant
Location: Frome, Somerset
Hours: Up to 40 hours per week during term time / 50 hours per week during school holidays
Children: two girls aged 4 (DOB: 06/08/21) and 8 (DOB: 17/10/17)
Salary: annual salary of £38,000 based on an average of 43 hours per week at £17/hour
The ideal nanny will: - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Have a minimum of 3 years childcare experience qualified with level 3 childcare (or above),
full DBS checked and Paediatric First Aid
Be reliable and trustworthy to keep the children safe, happy and nurtured in their care
Be playful, imaginative & crafty with the children: a great role model and good fun company!
Be kind, caring and patient to support with their emotional wellbeing
Support the parents with setting healthy boundaries to uphold rules and good manners
Be committed to supporting their education with homework, reading and writing support
Have a proactive nature coming up with great ideas for fun activities, researching holiday
activities in the local area etc
Enjoy healthy cooking and trying out recipes, finding ways to help children be better eaters
and encouraging them to help you cook too
Be seriously organised, happy to support with household & family administrative tasks when
the children are at school and thrive off supporting a really busy family household
Be able to use their initiative and do things without prompting like keep on top of children
related schedules, admin, playdates, birthday parties, gifts etc
Have strong communication and interpersonal skills with a positive can-do attitude
Have a valid driver’s license to drive children to activities and occasional drop-offs for the
parents to the nearby train station
Be tidy, clean and hygienic to keep your room tidy, respect our home and willing to help the
family keep on top of laundry and light housework (although we have a cleaner for weekly
deep clean)
Bonus if you share parents’ interests of food and travel as they both own their own
businesses in these sectors!
Term-Time Responsibilities:
Morning childcare (7-9am):
• 7-8.30am - getting children up, dressed, giving them breakfast and tidying up
• 8.45am – walk the girls to school (5 minute walk over the park)
Afternoon childcare (3.30-7pm):
• 3-4.30pm – collect the girls from school or after-school clubs.
• Help with homework and hosting/arranging play dates and kids activities inside and outside
the home
• Cooking healthy dinner (encouraging them to join you cooking to engage more with food)
• Bathing the children
• Putting them to bed 1-2 nights per week (see below)
Daytime household help (approx 2 hrs per day):
• Household Help: EG. tidying & light cleaning after kids meals, keeping childrens bedrooms,
play room & kitchen tidy, family laundry, weekly change of sheets (for self and kids),
organising clothes/toys etc.
• Cooking: EG. grocery shopping, meal planning, preparing meals and healthy snacks
• Administrative support: EG. helping to plan birthday parties or gift shopping, researching
school holiday activities, liaising with school or clubs on children-related activities and
stepping in on behalf of parents if they are unavailable, collecting dry cleaning, coordinating
deliveries & returns, ad hoc support with household admin like researching/coordinating a
gardener or childcare alternative to support your periods of absence.
School holiday responsibilities:
• Proactively researching, planning and hosting fun activities around nature, outdoors,
adventure, arts & crafts, play, culture
• Coordinating play dates
• Dropping/collecting from holiday camps
• Helping the family to prepare/pack/unpack for family holidays.
Other Inclusions:
• Overnight care for 1x night per week
• Joining the family on holiday once/twice a year with good notice
Notes:
Any additional babysitting, overnight care and extra hours during school holidays to be agreed
separately, without obligation, for overtime pay. Mother travels abroad quite regularly for business
so there may be occasional weeks requiring additional overnight care when Father is working in
London.
