Hi! Thank you for visiting my profile!
I am a 20 year old female non smoker who is currently working in maternity and has previous experience as a nanny and a babysitter. When I start at university (studying midwifery September 2022) or sooner, I’d like to get back into childcare on a more regular basis.
I am able to look after children from birth to ages 13. I am experienced in breastfeeding support, looking after children with special educational needs, preparing healthy meals, first aid trained, CPR trained etc.
I understand the stresses of working and finding a childcare provider you can really trust, hence why I offer all parents who are interested in me, an introductory meet to see how your child responds to me.
As stated above, I am currently working as a support worker alongside midwives obstetricians etc. I have experience in supporting women with twins, pre term babies, babies who have been in neonatal units etc. I am able to help with feeding (breast or bottle or mixed), nappy changes, emotional support when needed, meals for the baby if of weaning age, stimulation and playing with the baby (singing, reading, tummy time) I am also very empathetic and understand how intense the shift from pregnancy to parenthood can be so am more than happy to go at the parents pace in regards to assisting them with how to care for their baby, what cues to look out for and what they mean, how to best handle the new changes etc.
For older children, I am able to support them with their education where possible with reading and counting exercises, stimulating games (I spy, what shape is it etc) and songs, outdoor activities and adventures (when possible). I am also able to drop and pick up children from nurseries.
I am available for occasional babysitting when the parents want to go out etc if given notice in advance.
I have qualifications in:
Health and safety in the early years
Communication and the EYFS
Recognising and supporting children with SEN
January 2019 to Present
Enhanced DBS Check
March 2021 to Present
Level 2 Moving and Handling People
Level 2 Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/ Basic Life Support (BLS)
Level 2 Birth and Beyond Community Supporters Training
My availability varies depending on my current work. If the family are available to provide sufficient hours, I am open to going part-time at my job to allow more flexibility for this. I am also a parent so I request at least 3 days a week off to be with my own child.
