About Me
Hi, I'm Claire Anjos and I excel at boosting a child's confidence in their abilities with a proven track record in teaching and tuition. A qualified teacher and mum of two, with over 35 years experience in various educational environments. For the last few years I have been a supply teacher in both mainstream and private schools covering all subjects from nursery to year 6 and specialising in maths up to year 8. Prior to that I was the Director of Teaching and Learning at Flying Start Tuition for pupils seeking maths, English and 11+tuition. This included writing key courses weekly towards 11+ and Sat's preparation. Previously, I was part of the National 1-2-1 tutor programme for three years improving the levels of almost 40 pupils. I tailor tuition programmes to each child's needs, often making activities or games as I go, working to targets agreed by all interested parties.
My Experience
I have a proven tutor record of improving pupil performance through empowering children to learn and boosting their confidence in the skills they possess. It is the most satisfying part for me when a child grows as a result of focused support.
I have years of experience of the 11+ (secondary transfer test) with an understanding of both Durham CEM and GL Assessment.
Through supply teaching and contracts for Key Stage 1 & 2 (4 - 11 years), I am up to date in terms of the latest curriculum implementation. During my last teaching post, observations rated my teaching as Good with Outstanding features.
