My name is Elyshia.
I have a passion for life and am very creative, energetic and fun but I bring calmness to my work and believe in teaching kindness, resillience and the self regulation of emotions and behaviour.
I have a great love for languages. I speak a good level of German and am learning Greek, Spanish and Polish although any new language facinates me and I hope to be a polyglot one day!
I have a passion for life long education and love sharing the enjoyment and wonder learning can bring. I previously taught dance and music and art as activities in nursery as these are things which I love to do in my spare time. Now as a Nanny I share these joys and interests with the children I work with. I think the children get very excited about seeing a adult enjoying something as much as they do.
I like to cook healthy balanced meals from scratch with lots of fruit and vegetables. I am happy to involve the child in all aspects of the day including cooking and shopping as I believe there is great value in letting them enjoy learning through real life situations.
I like to teach the value of simple joys e.g the beauty of nature and wildlife, smells, sights, sounds and sensations relating to food, play, music, movement and the general tasks of the every day. I believe in providing scaffolding for children to further their development through play and following their interests to extend learning whilst also providing new experiences too.
My Experience
I am an experienced nursery practitioner who has a degree in early childhood education and care with 5 years of educational setting practice. In 2020 I decided I would prefer to work more closely with families which led me to a number of private care positions looking after children from as young as 8 months to 7 years old. Over the past 7 years I have worked with babies from 6 months and children up to the age of four in a nursery teachers capacity. I have also been a youth worker and have experience as a teaching assistant in both primary and secondary education.
Since I began Nannying I have found it so wonderful having the chance to focus my attention in my own way with the children I care for privately and have the time to get to know the child and their family far better than I would have in an educational setting.
I am also available in the capacity as housekeeper if required alongside nannying duties.
My Qualifications
2:1 Honours degree in Early Years Education.
Foundation degree in Fine Art.
Level 3 Pediatric First Aid.
Level 3 ILM leadership and management.
Level 3 TEFL ( teaching English as a foreign language).
Double distinction A-Level award in Fine Art.

My Availability
I am flexible completely within the week. I can be flexible most evenings, nights and weekends often with minimal notice and have my own car.

- Babysitting from £15.00 per hour
- Nannying from £15.00 per hour (gross)
