About Me

Hi, I’m Jamie!

I’m a warm, reliable nanny with around 8 years of experience working as both a nanny and a teaching assistant, with a strong focus on supporting children with SEND.

I’m neurodivergent myself, which allows me to build genuine, understanding connections with children who experience the world a little differently. I recognise that every child has their own way of communicating, regulating and learning, and I always aim to meet them where they are, without judgement.

My approach is holistic and child led. I focus on creating a calm, supportive environment where children feel safe, understood, and valued, rather than placing pressure on rigid routines or expectations. This involves patience, emotional regulation and adapting to each child’s individual needs.

I enjoy incorporating nature, creativity and gentle structure into daily routines, whether that’s outdoor play, hands-on activities or simply creating a peaceful space where a child can feel settled and secure.

I believe it’s important to be transparent that I’m not an “education first” nanny. While I do support learning and development, my priority is emotional wellbeing, confidence, and helping children feel comfortable being themselves, as I believe this forms the foundation for everything else.

I’m dependable, easy to communicate with and value building strong, trusting relationships with both children and their families.

If you’re looking for a nurturing, thoughtful nanny with a holistic approach, I’d love to hear from you.

I’m also CELTA qualified, which has strengthened my ability to support communication, language development, and confidence-building in a calm and engaging way. Alongside this, I am currently pursuing my Masters!

My Experience

I have around 8 years of hands on childcare experience, working as both a nanny and a teaching assistant across a range of ages and needs.

As a teaching assistant, I supported children in classroom settings, including those with SEND, helping with learning, emotional regulation, and day to day routines. This gave me strong experience in adapting activities, working one to one, and understanding how to support children who may need a more individualised approach.

Alongside this, my nannying experience has allowed me to build close, trusting relationships with children and families in a home environment. I have worked with over 6 families, all on a long term basis. I’m still in touch with these families even after my roles have ended, which I feel speaks to the relationships I create.

I have supported with everything from daily routines and meal preparation to creative play, outdoor activities, and emotional support.

A large part of my experience has involved working with children who require additional understanding, patience, and flexibility. I am confident supporting children with different communication styles, sensory needs, and emotional regulation challenges, always focusing on creating a calm and safe space for them.

I am also CELTA qualified, which has strengthened my ability to support language development, communication, and confidence in a natural and engaging way.

Across all of my roles, I prioritise building genuine connections with the children I work with, ensuring they feel secure, respected, and able to be themselves. I bring a calm, adaptable and nurturing approach to every setting, and I’m confident supporting both children and families in a way that feels supportive and consistent.

Jamie has worked part-time with our family (in Hackney) for almost 2 years. He is reliable, patient, good-hearted and extremely capable. Jamie has been a huge force of positivity in our lives. He clicked with our 4yr old autistic son immediately, and has become more than a nanny to him. He is a friend and a mentor - someone who naturally supports and encourages children as they explore the world and develop their interests and skills. Jamie is a true pleasure to work with. We feel very lucky to have met him and recommend him wholeheartedly.
