About Our Family & What We're Looking For

We're a friendly family based near Leominster with two little girls, Daphne (4) and Daisy (new baby) + 2 dogs.

We're looking for a reliable, caring babysitter to help us occasionally so that we can enjoy the odd evening out together.

The role would primarily involve caring for Daphne, who has a form of epilepsy called Dravet Syndrome. She is a happy, funny, loving little girl who enjoys the same things as most children her age, but she does require extra supervision and understanding due to her condition.

We appreciate that epilepsy can sound daunting, but we're looking for someone who is willing to learn about Daphne's needs and become comfortable with her care, which in all honesty at home dosnt differ to much from other children.
Full training and guidance would be provided, and we'd never leave you feeling unsupported.

Ideally, we'd love to find someone who has experience with children who have additional needs, epilepsy, healthcare settings, childcare, nursing, teaching assistants, or similar roles, although this isn't essential and most importantly someone daphne can bond with and is comfortable around.

Our ideal babysitter would be:
• Kind, patient and calm under pressure
• Comfortable caring for a child with epilepsy
• First aid trained (essential)
• Happy to learn seizure management procedures and emergency protocols
• Reliable and trustworthy
• DBS checked (preferred)
• Confident communicating with us about any concerns

Most babysitting would be for occasional evenings.

We would always ensure you were fully familiar with Daphne's routine, medications, seizure plan and emergency contacts before being left in sole charge.

We're hoping to find someone who can become a trusted part of our family's support network and help give us the occasional opportunity to enjoy a meal out, attend events, or simply spend some time together as a couple.
