I am interested in speaking with you about this role in more detail.

Thank you,

My Experience
Dear Family,
I would love to have the opportunity to work with your family as a Nanny. I belong to a family of six myself, my mum, my two younger siblings and our dogs, George and Henry. We were born and raised in Calgary Alberta, Canada. My mum, Kathryn is a single mum and I, being the eldest child was a leader at an early age and I enjoyed helping my mum any way I could. She has done a wonderful job
raising us and I’m proud to have her as my mum. Our family is very creative and passionate and we’re all artists at heart.
My fiance´ Mitchell and I love to travel, it started with a year in Australia on a working holiday visa,
which was truly an amazing experience. We lived in Brisbane for 8 months working to save up
enough money to continue our adventures. During that time I was able to work as a Nanny caring for
a one-year-old girl and 7-year-old twins., which was a wonderful learning experience.
In November 2019 we decided to move to the UK so we could travel around Europe. I found a nanny position that allowed me to gain experience and challenge myself in new ways as I took on the role of nanny, housekeeper, personal assistant and interior decorator. My creative skill set and high level of organization allowed me to excel in my new roles and I quickly found myself a part of their family. After a year and a half of working with the Gurney family, they no longer needed me full time as the youngest was going to start school so I gave my position to someone seeking part-time work and I decided to take some time to travel.
Mitchell and I are returning to London after travelling for 6 months, our adventures started in Scotland where we
walked the Westhighland way, after that we spent a month island hopping in Greece which then lead
us to Turkey, then a month travelling around Mexico and finally making it home for Christmas. It was an amazing adventure that we will remember forever. I am a dual citizen and Mitchell is on a partner visa. We plan to stay in London for the next five years so he can become a dual citizen as well.
Mitchell and I both believe family comes first and we are very close with our families in Canada.
Together we enjoy anything outdoors including camping, hiking, fishing and snowboarding, and
anytime we can bring the dogs we do. We also enjoy music and art and we love to cook.
In Canada, I worked as a full-time dance instructor and I have been working with children for the past
10 years. I love my job, I love the creative side of it; being able to work with music and
choreograph dances. But the best part of my job is working with kids and having a positive impact on
their lives. I get to encourage them to grow into strong, confident individuals and I’m proud to know
that I’m giving them a positive outlet to be themselves and stay fit and healthy. I have worked with
children of all ages, ranging from 1-18 and I enjoy teaching and being able to share my passion for
dance.
I have gained so much experience and knowledge from growing up as a dancer and teaching dance
in many environments from competitive studios to fun after school programs and summer camps as
well as leading the dance curriculum in schools throughout the city. I am confident that I have much
to offer.
I am a fun, highly organized, responsible, energetic person and I’m looking forward to working with
your family I know it will be an enjoyable and positive experience for everyone. I am happy to speak
with you and answer any questions that you may have. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity, I
look forward to meeting with you soon.
SINCERELY,
THERESA SPARKES
