Nanny required - Bishopstoke, Eastleigh
About Me
My husband and I live in a detached house in Bishopstoke with our two sons, one is 5 years old and the other is 9 months old (currently). Our 5 year old attends school in Romsey and I am currently on maternity leave with our 9 month old, due to return to work in September. We also have two cats.
We do not have any family nearby who are able to support us and are therefore looking for a nanny to provide additional childcare and carry out day to day jobs around the house which we simply do not have the time to do ourselves anymore.
My Requirements
We are looking for a caring, reliable and proactive nanny to provide support to us as a family on a long term basis.
The role will primarily involve caring for our happy and active 1-year-old son (at the time of the job commencing), with some school drop-offs and pick-ups for our 5-year-old. During school holidays, care will also include both children.
Hours Required (35.5 hours per week):
* Monday: 10:00am – 5:30pm
* Tuesday: 8:30am – 5:30pm
* Wednesday: 7:30am – 7:30pm
* Thursday: 8:30am – 3:00pm
While these are our preferred hours, there may be some flexibility for the right candidate. Our priority is finding someone who is a great fit for our family, and we are hoping to establish a long-term working relationship.
About the Role:
We are looking for someone who enjoys getting out and about with children and can provide a stimulating, nurturing and active environment. We would love our 1-year-old to enjoy regular outings such as:
* Parks and outdoor play areas
* Baby and toddler classes
* Playgroups
* Soft play centres
* The zoo and other local attractions
* Age-appropriate activities that support learning and development
In addition to childcare responsibilities, we would appreciate support with a small number of light child- and family-related household tasks while caring for our youngest son, including:
* Preparing meals and snacks for the children
* Occasionally assisting with laundry
* Helping to unpack and put away grocery shopping
* Keeping children’s areas tidy and organised
We are not looking for a housekeeper, but rather someone who is happy to lend a hand with these light duties as part of the role.
Essential Requirements:
* Experience caring for children of a similar age, either as a nanny or within a nursery/early years setting
* Paediatric First Aid qualification
* Enhanced DBS check completed recently and/or on the DBS Update Service
* Appropriate nanny/public liability insurance
* Full driving licence and access to your own car for school runs and outings
* Warm, caring and dependable nature
Due to the nature of some of the duties, for example doing the bedtime routine, it wouldn’t be suitable for someone who would like to bring their own child with them.
Desirable Requirements:
* Experience managing children’s food allergies as our 5-year-old has allergies to milk and egg
* Ofsted registration, or willingness to become Ofsted registered
Employment Options:
We are open to considering both self-employed and employed candidates.
Start Date:
We are looking for someone to start in early September 2026. Ideally, the successful candidate would be available for a few introductory and settling-in days during August.
Additional Information:
* We have two friendly cats, so applicants should be comfortable working in a home with pets.
* References from previous childcare employers will be required.
If you are an experienced childcare professional who enjoys supporting children’s development through fun, engaging and active experiences, and are looking for a role where you can become an important part of a family’s life for years to come, we would love to hear from you.
