About Me
Hi, I am Nicole's father and Bear's owner, Nick.
My Requirements
Weekend Nanny / Mother’s Help – London
This is genuinely one of the nicer childcare roles you’ll come across. It’s relaxed, well-organised, and occasionally feels a bit like a “beach job.” If the weather’s great and plans allow, we sometimes disappear for the weekend to surf in Cornwall or Devon.
Nicole is 12 years old and bright, curious, and very active. Your main role is simply to be a solid, positive presence for her. That usually means taking her to weekend activities, making sure homework is done, helping her stay organised, and occasionally feeding the dog. You should be comfortable in a kitchen at a basic level (boiling pasta in generous quantities definitely counts).
Initiative is welcomed. If you’d like to take Nicole to an exhibition, play, or something interesting around London, just let me know and I’ll happily cover the cost.
The most important requirement is honesty and reliability. If you’re not a good role model for a child, this won’t be the right fit. Being punctual, trustworthy, and kind matters more than having years of experience. Nicole is very energetic, so someone sporty or high-energy is ideal. If you think you can handle weekends that might include gymnastics, judo, robotics, or Brazilian jiu-jitsu, you’ll fit right in.
This is primarily a weekend position, with Fridays after school and the occasional weekday evening (after 5pm) as needed.
Typical hours (approximate):
• Friday: after school
• Saturday: 13:00 – 20:00
• Sunday: 12:30 – 20:00
Recently, we’ve also realised that extra support with reading, grammar, vocabulary, and spelling would be a real bonus. If you’re a university student, you’re very welcome to bring your own work to do here while Nicole completes her homework (for an hour or two).
Speaking Spanish is a big plus, and being Spanish even more so, but it’s absolutely not essential for the right person.
If this sounds like something you’d genuinely enjoy rather than just a job, I’d love to hear from you.
