About Me

Personal Assistant / Support Worker Needed – £15 per hour (Self-Employed)

I’m a disabled mum looking for two Personal Assistants to support me and my 4-year-old daughter. This role is not a fill-in or stop-gap job — it is my lifeline, so reliability and long-term commitment are essential. Please only apply if you are genuinely available and do not have plans that will regularly interfere with these hours.

I live with left-sided cerebral palsy, fibromyalgia, functional neurological disorder, ADHD, and autism. I have spent much of my life highly masking, and with the right support I am able to reduce the daily stresses of living with these conditions, manage my energy better, and be the best mum I can be. I’m therefore looking for someone who understands the importance of consistent, calm, and practical support.

I’m seeking reliable, kind, and fun individuals with a good sense of humour, strong initiative, and the ability to prioritise tasks independently without needing constant reassurance or direction.

The role includes:
• Food prep, cooking, and support with food shopping
• Household upkeep (laundry, dishes, general cleaning/tidy-up of all areas, keeping toys organised, changing beds
• Helping look after my daughter during appointments and outings
• Supporting with swimming and other physically demanding activities with a young child yes I need you in the water!
• Attending appointments and providing practical day-to-day support

Hours & days:
Monday- 2-3 hours current helper comes at 8 to do a full reset, food prep and laundry
• Tuesdays: 8:00am – 12:00–12:15pm
(Occasional extended hours for medical appointments or other essential commitments)
• Thursdays: 8:00am – 2:00pm or 9:00am – 3:00pm

• Additional hours may be required on other days from time to time

Pay & requirements:
• £15 per hour (self-employed)
• Paid monthly via the council
• ? Must have own car and appropriate insurance
• ? DBS check required (can be arranged and funded by me)
• Public liability insurance required

? Ideal candidate:
• Fun, friendly, and proactive
• Confident working independently and able to manage and prioritise tasks without frequent reassurance or supervision
• Good understanding of autism and ADHD (lived or professional experience welcome)
• Experience with disability, chronic pain, or neurological conditions is desirable
