Assisting with aspects of my personal care in a respectful, dignified, and person-centred manner.
* Helping with dressing when needed, such as fastening zips and buttons, doing my daughter’s hair, tying shoelaces, or assisting with putting on or taking off jumpers.
* Providing medication prompts.
* Offering mobility support and assistance around the home and when out in the community. I walk with stick and may need help with my scooter for longer days.
* Occasionally helping to wash my hair when required, although this is usually supported by my husband.
* Helping my daughter with dressing and supporting her with bath time when needed.
Hours and Working Pattern
The role currently includes the following regular hours, although some flexibility is required as our family’s needs and homeschooling schedule evolve.
* Mondays: Approximately 8:00am–11:00am or 8:00am–10:00am. This is an independent household support session focused on resetting the home, including changing beds, food preparation, washing up, laundry, and tidying each room. The ability to work independently and use your own initiative is essential. From September, the start time may move later in the morning, so flexibility and adaptability are important.
* Tuesdays: Usually 8:00am–12:00pm/12:15pm. Depending on our home education plans, the hours may change to 9:00am–1:00pm. On some weeks, the shift may also be extended by around an hour (for example, 8:00am–1:00pm) to support outings such as visits to the farm or other educational activities.
* Thursdays: Typically 8:00am–2:00pm or 9:00am–3:00pm. These hours are currently covered but may become available in the future.
* Additional Hours: There may be opportunities for extra hours on other days to cover medical appointments, essential commitments, or provide additional support when needed.
Flexibility is appreciated, as my health needs and our homeschooling routine can vary from week to week.
Although we do tend to keep to set days unless we have holiday commitments etc .

Jess was a great support to me and my daughter I am disabled so require help in many aspects of life including maintaining the home, managing health and being the best mum I can be. Jess worked for us for a long time and although she’s moved on to other things she always helps out when she can from time to time. my daughter built a great relationship with her and will always be cherished and that’s a testament to the time Jess gave to our family. we miss her weekly support but love to see her when she can for us in.
