Hello, I’m a warm, nurturing, and experienced degree-qualified childminder based in Currie Edinburgh. I’m passionate about supporting families and helping children thrive in a caring, home-from-home environment.
As a mum to two children aged 12 and 15, I understand the importance of finding childcare that feels right. My youngest is on the autistic spectrum, which has given me a deep understanding of additional support needs and the importance of patience, empathy, and structure.
With over a decade of parenting and professional experience, I love creating activities that inspire curiosity, independence, and confidence — all within safe, secure boundaries. Whether it’s outdoor adventures, creative crafts, or quiet reading time, I tailor each day to suit every child’s interests and needs.
Edinburgh born and bred, I enjoy spending my free time walking, reading, and exploring arts and crafts — often bringing these passions into the activities I share with the children.
My Experience
I have over 15 years experience working in private nurseries and charity playgroups and nannying. I am also a mum of 2 girls who are aged 15 and 12
My Qualifications
I have an HNC in childhood practice and I am working towards a BA in childhood practice at Edinburgh University. I am first aid, child protection and food hygiene trained also. I have recently completed The Scottish Books Trust's Bookbug at Home Training.
As I work in partnership with Edinburgh council I have completed their Childminder training and I attend monthly meetings to ensure continued best practice. I can provide funding childcare for children living in Edinburgh and provide Tax Free Childcare.

I’m a warm, nurturing, and experienced degree-qualified childminder offering a caring, home-from-home environment in Currie Edinburgh.
Many of the children I care for come to me because their parents want them to socialise, build confidence, and prepare for nursery or school. I have lots of experience supporting little ones who are new to childcare, and my calm, gentle approach helps them settle in and feel at ease quickly.
As a mum to two children on the autistic spectrum, I understand the importance of patience, structure, and individual care. I currently work during school hours so I can give my best both as a childminder and as a parent — though I’m always happy to chat if you need slightly longer hours to see what might work.
I am proud to be a Partner Provider with the City of Edinburgh Council, allowing families to use their 1140 funded hours, and I’m also registered with the Tax-Free Childcare scheme.
In my first and most recent Care Inspectorate inspection, I was delighted to receive all 5s (Very Good) across every area of my practice.

I want to begin this review by saying you could not find a lovelier, more capable, professional and all look round wonderful nanny than Caroline. If you are considering childcare then snap her up as quickly as you can! Caroline helped us out with childcare mid week for a few weeks as we waited for our new Nursery to open. My little girl who is naturally shy and hesitant took to Caroline immediately. This is testament to Caroline’s warm caring nature which, supported by her immense knowledge and experience with little people, makes her a really wonderful nanny. Caroline is just one of those special people you meet once in a blue moon. I felt completely comfortable leaving my 19 month old in her care, she was happy, stimulated and had the best time. She was also a wealth of knowledge in relation to some minor ailments my wee one had. She is genuinely interested in children and you can tell she loves her work. We loved the little updates and pictures she sent of fun times had. We will definitely be contacting Caroline again to see if she can help out with babysitting in future (if she is free!) and feel lucky and privileged our wee one got to spend the time with her that she did.

Caroline immediately settled into our family routine. Our kids bonded with her straight away and she has effortlessly become someone who we trust and respect. She is calm, capable and steady. We are grateful to have found her and delighted she has been able to help as a part time nanny.

Caroline was fantastic, everything you'd want from a babysitter. It was really reassuring that she has all the childcare experience and qualifications, but what really mattered was that my children felt completely comfortable with her which gave me the confidence to go out and enjoy myself without having to think twice about how they were. My children love spending time with Caroline, and I would recommend her to anyone.
